Reason Writers on TV: Matt Welch Discusses Hurricanes and Jobs Policy; Awkwardly Waves Cue Cards on Fox Business Network
On Monday, Aug. 29, Reason Editor in Chief Matt Welch appeared on "America's Nightly Scoreboard" to discuss hurricane hype, White House economic policy, Lady Gaga's cross-dressing, and a bunch of other unrelated items, oftentimes while clumsily waving around various "Buy," "Sell," and "Hold" cards. Watch the whole 16-plus minutes below:

We had to get hit by the storm to find out what's in it.
40 dead, millions without electricity, massive flooding, billions of dollars in damage, that's what.
When we actually get hit by Cat5 Hurricane Wolf, no one's going to listen to the warnings.
Cat5 Hurricane Wolf Blizter?
A Cat5 in the NE? Seems unlikely without some substantial global warming.
"...shame on Obama and the government for also using this as a distraction from himself, frankly, causing more damage than Irene's ever done at this point."
If the worst thing that Obama does to capitalize on the storm is a lame photo-op at the hurricane center, we're not too bad off from it on that point.

Ha, Obama's been a failure so he shouldn't pick economic advisors who agree with him. I can't really argue with Tammy's logic (or that reality).
Are we seriously discussing applying ADA to the ugly?
FoE, did you just live blog that video?
IT'S STILL HAPPENING! The liveblog is coming from inside the house!
Selling Lady Gaga but buying chocolate? This is Fox Business?
And the video cuts off the Final Score portion of the show, which I can only assume has something to do with rating reality television shows or favorite restaurants near the studio.
That Tammy lady comes across as a partisan cunt. There, I said it.
Matt's wearing a white shirt?
The tie *works*?
This breaks a streak.

That Tammy lady comes across as a partisan...
You think? Discussions about the weather are always relevant opportunities to blame Obama for something.
Welch scored points by making a comment saying, "republicans as we know were miserable on...X".. and making the host immediately go, 'uh, yeah, ok, NEXT TOPIC!'.
The buy/sell/hold gimmick? I hope you got paid, dude. That game show-type stuff is kind of demeaning.
If you ever wanted to know what lengths people will go to to sell a book........
