We're not in this mess because some people are calling out the government and the political parties for spending money that we can't afford to spend and, in fact, don't have to spend. I guess it was Paul Revere's fault that the British were actually coming?

Besides, it's hardly like the Tea Party owns this issue. There are plenty of Americans, even some statists, that think that spending is out of control.

Furthermore, if the market has dropped because THE GOVERNMENT IS STILL DOING THE SAME STUPID SHIT, how is that the fault of the people suggesting we do things differently?

It is unbelievable that an allegedly serious publication would publish such garbage. I love how it is somehow entirely the Tea Party's fault for the debt deal. Obama could have agreed to the deal he got months before he got it and avoided the whole thing. But it is the Tea Party's fault for not doing exactly what this clown wanted.

In my utopia, the government partnership with the tobacco industry and the warning labels (save for possibly the surgeon general's warning) would be gone at the same time.

But if I had to choose, I'd prefer the government support be done away with first. Morally, I can't stand it when a big industry wants government support with no strings attached.
