  1. Gilbert police arrest woman in stolen car

At 4:13 a.m., a Gilbert police officer spotted a Lexus weaving while northbound on McQueen Road at Elliot Road, Gilbert police said Monday. The officer attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver, later identified as Jessica Archuleta Montano, 34, of Chandler, refused to stop immediately, police said.

Montano pulled over two miles later at McQueen and Baseline roads. The officer determined the vehicle was reported stolen out of Mesa. Montano was booked into jail for possession of a stolen vehicle. Nothing else happened.

    1. So when cops actually do their job without accosting, beating or shooting innocent people they are what, to be lauded? This is how police work should be and should not be considered an “outstanding achievement”.

That Balko has an entire category devoted to the aptly misnamed “Police Professionalism” is a sad testament that some cops don’t do their job with just deference to the rights of the people they supposedly serve. Your doesn’t change the fact that there are more than a “couple of bad apples” working with police forces nationwide.

      1. Dangit, wrong link. Let’s try again.

      2. Hey, I just made it an entire day without beating or murdering anyone, where are my props?
