The income tax is a fine imposed on people who work; but, is work really something the government should discourage?

The government has accumulated unprecedented debt that cannot be repaid, a huge penalty that will burden you and other income earners for at least the next 40 years. Alternatively, imagine living with a responsible government like Hong Kong, in a Mediterranean climate like California.

Chile offers a combination of pleasant climate and fewer government burdens than many others, including no income tax on individuals. If you're ready to shed the debt your government has imposed upon you, it is a good destination to consider:

Encyclopedia Dramaticac is no more. Booooooo.

    1. Episiarch   14 years ago

What?!? Seriously? Where will I go to for the definitive article on "guidos"?

      1. dbcooper   14 years ago

Yeah, seems that the site owner has gone for something a bit less "in your face."

  3. mad libertarian guy   14 years ago

    Already finished taxes this year.

Got fucked, as usual, but I've been fucked harder before so it doesn't hurt as bad because I've already been stretched out some.

    1. rather   14 years ago

      What are taxes? 😉

      1. Binky   14 years ago

They're like fees, only meaner and more broadly applicable.

      2. The Immaculate Trouser   14 years ago

        Formalized theft.

      3. Joshua Corning   14 years ago

All my "income" was earned in US dollars.

The US owns those dollars so by definition I have no income to be taxed.

        1. dbcooper   14 years ago

You're not from Arizona by any chance?

          1. Fiscal Meth   14 years ago

            LOL

  4. Fist of Etiquette   14 years ago

Rod: Daddy, what do taxes pay for?

Ned: Oh, why, everything! Policemen, trees, sunshine. And let's not forget the folks who just don't feel like working, God bless 'em.

    1. wylie   14 years ago

Sunshine, huh? Then why is it raining today? Stupid Flanders.

    2. Joshua Corning   14 years ago

The most anti-leftist Simpsons episode ever!!

I am in no way surprised that i have never seen it as a rerun.

      1. wylie   14 years ago

I wonder if headquarters dictates what reruns to show, of if the affiliates actually manage individually to show the same ~50 episodes in the reruns, over and over again. At least Fox5DC is guilty of this.

It's not politically motivated IMO, just abject incompetence on the part of the broadcasters (or a subtle attempt to drive DVD sales?)

        1. rather   14 years ago

IIRC, TV shows are sold as a package that encourages the purchase of more. Not all the highest rated would be in one series lot

  5. Enjoy Every Sandwich   14 years ago

And, of course, our taxes pay for the parts of the air travel system that are run by the government and which are all fucked up. Of course the lefties are probably blaming the latest scandal--the snoozing air traffic controllers--on that evil free market. Bizarre but I'm sure they're up to it.

    1. wylie   14 years ago

Blaming the air traffic controllers on the free market still isn't the pinnacle of Full Retard though. When the day comes, and it will, where they blame congress's poor performance on the Evil Free Market, THAT will be the apex.

And i don't mean in some sideways, externality way: "Congress functions under free market principles that have fail us as a nation" sort of direct-causation FullOnRetard.

I give it 6-8 months, tops. Or, with another method of estimation, about 2weeks before election day.

      1. wylie   14 years ago

        that have fail us

        "fail" FAIL, *"failed", ugh

        (fail)

      2. mad libertarian guy   14 years ago

You mean that congress is part of the free market?

    2. rather   14 years ago

I wrote about Air traffic controllers. I blame Libertarians

      1. mad libertarian guy   14 years ago

So I was feeling a bit of self-loathing today and decided to go to your blog.

Not only does the content make no fucking sense whatsoever, it's uglier than the ass end of an ass.

        1. rather   14 years ago

I'm not sure if I should put you in the Unbiased Expert Reviews or the Biased Jackass Reviews column. What do you suggest?

          1. Enjoy Every Sandwich   14 years ago

I gotta throw in with mlg; that site is a mess. In the very least, make the background less busy and messy.

  6. Chris   14 years ago

We need revenue, but why in the world does it have to be stolen from the money we earn? If we replace the income tax with a national sales tax, we will have the choice on when and how much we pay in taxes. Check out fairtax.org for a good plan to do just that.

    1. SIV   14 years ago

Fuck the "fair tax".You realize you're advocating a VAT for social engineering don't you? Congress isn't going to pass your Boortz-book or eliminate the income tax.

  7. 0x90   14 years ago

What you're up against. Taken from a comment on an article over at daily beast regarding tax-filing habits.

    Commenter creebold writes:

"Just mailed mine 3 days ago. Owed Uncle Sam some, as usual. That means he gave ME an interest free loan for a year :)"
