A Cop Out
Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey fired Officer Joseph Sulpizio for lying to internal affairs investigators. Sulpizio had been suspended three times since 2008 for allegedly stealing from people he detained, and supervisors had repeatedly warned internal affairs that he might be a thief. But Ramsey blamed the Philadelphia Daily News for the fact that Sulpizio won't face criminal charges, saying a story the newspaper did on him forced the department to stop video surveillance of Sulpizio.
