I like the judge a lot. Smart guy and a devoted advocate of liberty. He was filling in for Glenn Beck yesterday, and at the end of his show he made an impassioned entreaty to God and Jesus H. Christ Almighty, and said we owed it all, as a nation, to those famous ghosts. I almost barfed. I still like the guy, but...

Perhaps it's not a bad thing if Christians like the good judge can get others of his faith to see the value of liberty for both the sinner and the saint.

I would have much preferred the Judge have a roundtable discussion with real libertarians, of the Rothbardian tradition, like Lew Rockwell, Gary North, Thomas Woods, etc. It would have been a much more enlightening discussion than to hear Welch spew for government welfare ("but limited!"). Please. Nice to know Welch believes in theft to maintain the welfare state.

Wait a minute. You find Welch unacceptable because he doesn't want to eliminate the welfare state entirely, and among those you'd prefer there's Gary freaking North, whose belief system includes stoning gays, adulterers, people who espouse different religious beliefs, and (possibly) children who disrespect their parents? I don't want to keep the welfare state, either, and I'm not one of the folks around here who starts to feel their libertarian sense tingling whenever they notice anything related to Christianity, but putting North ahead of Welch is downright bizarre.

They were terrible. Their answers were all muddled and wishy washy. The Judge's show is short quick segments that require short quick answers.

"What's a libertarian?"
Fiscal conservative, social liberal. Bam!

"What's the function of government?"
To defend individual liberty. Bam!

"What's their take on war?"
Defend if attacked. Bam!

"Are taxes theft?"
Yes. Bam!
