Two for Tea
Here's a sharp and balanced report in Newsweek on the Tea Partiers' get-out-the-vote efforts, with a focus on how the bottom-up movement meshes with the Republicans' traditional election machinery. And here's a perhaps-surprising bit of data on the amount of political experience among November's Tea Party-associated candidates.

a sharp and balanced report in Newsweek
Now that's a phrase I didn't expect to hear.
Yup, thought it was sarcasm at first.
Clocks made by a thousand monkeys are right twice a day.
This is not really related, but it's fantastic.
"Functionally if not formally in charge"?
Dude, the Dems are never responsible for anything, ever, in the entire universe, ever. Ever. Did I say ever?
But Reid is responisble for saving THE WORLD!
'BUT FOR ME, WE'D BE IN WORLD-WIDE DEPRESSION'...

Thats the new "Fake, but accurate".
I got a kick out of the Newsweek companion piec on how the Tea Parties get the constitution wrong:
http://www.newsweek.com/2010/1.....wrong.html
Christine O'Donnell is running a silly campaign? No shit, Newsweek. Because she can't name any bad SCOTUS decisions off the top of her head, it means there is no such thing as too much federal gov't. Now I get it.
Obviously they were looking for Roe v. Wade. Had O'Donnell said Kelo, then
she could have jumped all over Coons on this issue.
She's probably never heard of this case.
Especially this phrase:
The Tea Partiers are right to revere the Constitution. It's a remarkable, even miraculous document. But there are many Constitutions: the Constitution of 1789, of 1864, of 1925, of 1936, of 1970, of today.
Wow. I get their point but if you dont see a difference between amending and rewriting then you are a moron.
The US has had two constitutions: The Articles of Confederation and the Constitution.
According to Newsweek, Cass Sunstein is a centrist.
I'm pretty sure that if Sunstein is eliminated tomorrow, it would have a positive effect the entire future of the human race...
Who cares about their political experience? I want to know about their occult and/or anti-masturbation experience.
So what's Spanish for "tea party"?
REPORTS: Illegal immigrants canvassing for votes...
http://www.foxnews.com/politic.....ash-state/
I swear, if someone came to my door, identified themselves as an illegal, and tried to get me to vote for some lefty tool, I would be on the phone to ICE before they were out of the driveway.
And I hate me some snitches. But some things . . . .
Um, the Tea Party is the Republican Party with a new name on the sign out front. Of course their get-out-the-vote efforts "mesh" with the Republicans'.
I expected the party to do some major rebranding, I just couldn't have guessed they'd be rebranding their voters. That was genius.
Sure is, its sort of like democrats rebranding 70 year old wishlist as new ideas to save the country, except the opposite.
Reformed Obamabot Peggy Noonan describes it well in her latest column.
Peggy Noonan is an alcoholic nutcase.
