Nice one. High concept, good punchline.

  2. Fist of Etiquette   15 years ago

What's Obama reaching for there? I'm glad Payne chose to self-censor and black out the lower half of the screen.

    1. Astrid   15 years ago

Yes, some times it's best to just imply the action.

  3. Suki   15 years ago

    Sorry, not feeling it.

Obama supporters may accuse racism because they think he can walk on water and oil.

    1. Almanian   15 years ago

      Racist.

      Morning, Suki!

      1. Suki   15 years ago

Good morning Almanian! How is your day coming along?

    2. Sean L.   15 years ago

... but he can't walk on them when they're mixed.

  4. ?   15 years ago

    Obama is a tar baby.

    1. Suki   15 years ago

      OMFG!

      1. ?   15 years ago

You heard it here first. Which surprises me.

    2. ndelc   15 years ago

Wow. There's no need for that. Racism goes against the basic tenets of Libertarianism.

  5. PermaLurker   15 years ago

I know it's very bad form here to find the Friday Funny funny, but I actually laughed out loud...maybe from relief that I won't have to see any more of BP's freaky psychodelic eco-friendly commercials anymore.

    1. Suki   15 years ago

That is not the major bad form violation. Making your first comment after 7:00 am is!

      1. Rich   15 years ago

Suki, you should be more like heller. Now *there's* an oily bird!

        1. heller   15 years ago

          Y'all know I don't sleep.

          1. Suki   15 years ago

took you a while to notice

      2. PermaLurker   15 years ago

my bad...lost track of time watching pron

    2. Mike Laursen   15 years ago

They'll be more of them than ever. They won't say BP, though, after they do a corporate name change.

      1. Draco   15 years ago

Right. Said the same thing to my wife a day or two ago. Just like Phillip-Morris became Altria.

    3. fresno dan   15 years ago

There is no surer sign of loving to F*ck the environment than commercials saying you love the environment.

  6. newshutz   15 years ago

Government (in)action on the oil spill is the normal bureaucratic inability to deal with the unexpected. It is NOT a sign of presidential or any other politicians' incompetence. It IS a sign of the limits to what government can do, because of the very nature of government.

    1. Rich   15 years ago

It IS a sign of the limits to what government can do, because of the very nature of government.

      You say "potato", ...

  7. JW   15 years ago

I get the BP label, but when was The Annoited One ever considered competent?

    1. Mark   15 years ago

Uh, I think you got it; now you're supposed to laugh...

    2. Anti-appeasenik   15 years ago

when was The Anointed One ever considered competent?

January 20, 2009, for about five seconds, by an amazing number of fools who really should have known better.

See also, the voting records of a bunch of well-known idiots. (See especially Tim Cavanaugh: "All my life I've been waiting for a black president; Obama's not monumentally unqualified..." and Craig Newmark: "Barack Obama, since he's a genuine leader, with a good program for cleaning up Washington, and will be very good for business.")

  8. Fluffy   15 years ago

Wow, I had no idea that the World Trade Center was located on Staten Island.

New Yorkers are rude, crude, obnoxious, racist, xenophobic, and uneducated? Who would have ever guessed!

  9. Almanian   15 years ago

So, these two are looking for "whose ass to kick", but can't see them for the oil?

I see what you did there, Henry.

    1. Rich   15 years ago

Maybe they're hoping "the sale of Blackwater" will sucker somebody in.

      1. Almanian   15 years ago

        lol!

      2. Poor   15 years ago

"It's water and it's black. That's what we said we were selling you. You got what you paid for. What's your problem?"

  10. Attorney   15 years ago

    Not bad.

  11. Tim   15 years ago

    I got nothin'

  12. Jen   15 years ago

You see, it's funny because it's NOT true...get it? Please laugh now...please? Oh, just forget it.

  17. Jim   15 years ago

But Obama and BP have never been in the same room together. He admitted to not talking to BP.

  18. Pingback   15 years ago

Didn't Nassim Taleb warn us of this foreseeable Black Swan covered in oil? The fragility of crony capitalism astronomically high. The flocks of Keynesian Black Swans are coming home to roost. Austrian School economics and strict gold standard Libertarian austerity is the robust prescription for future planetary health.

Thanks a lot you conservative teaturd "patriots" for destroying 25% of America's pristine coastline. Hope you're proud of your contribution to your country - you sorry losers.

    1. Think At All   15 years ago

Fuck you, lefturd commie traitors, for destroying 25% of America's pristine coastline. Hope you're proud of your commie fascist usurper occupant of the White House, because we're gonna kick his sorry ass just as soon as we get done kicking yours.

  26. ugg discount outlets   15 years ago

Ugg boots (sometimes called uggs or ug boots) have been considered a fashion trend since the early 2000s.The combination of its soft shank and sheepskin interior means that ugg boots are designed for casual, short-term use, and not for situations which require sturdy, protective footwear, as the design emphasis is on style and comfort rather than protecting the feet. While in the boot, the sockless foot is in full contact with the sheepskin lining, thereby maximizing the insulative properties of the boot.

The city also boosted its commercial appeal as it encouraged the construction of two major office towers and complexes: the 57-floor Key Tower (1990) and the 31-floor One Cleveland Center & Galleria (1992). The Flats Entertainment District seemed to resuscitate downtown night life?for a while?and the city received a comforting psychological boost when it won the bidding to locate the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (after pledging some $65 million in public subsidies). A new investment in light rail along the waterfront linking the football stadium, the Flats, and downtown was expected to dramatically boost livability.

Everything was fine until the city started running out of money in 2007. Suddenly, the city announced that it was going to ignore its own ruling and reclassify us in the higher tax category. Even more incredible is the fact that the new classification was to be imposed retroactively to 2004 with interest and penalties. No explanation was given for the new classification, or for the city's decision to ignore its 1994 ruling....
