Reason Columnist Veronique de Rugy on Stossel Tonight, Talking Entitlement Spending
Reason columnist and Mercatus Center economist Veronique de Rugy will be on John Stossel's eponymous Fox Business show, talking about "the biggest rip-off": entitlement spending. Also featuring Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) and demographer Joel Kotkin, both of whom have appeared in Reason.tv videos.
Details:
Bernie Madoff was the scandal of the century. His 50 billion dollar scam was called the biggest ponzi scheme ever. But that's just not true. There's a ponzi scheme worth TRILLIONS, not billions, called Social Security and Medicare. It's a scam worse than Madoff, and Congress isn't investigating it… it's RUNNING it. And our children will pay for it.
Joining the program this week, Congressman Paul Ryan (R-WI), economist Veronique de Rugy of the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, David Certner of the AARP, Joel Kotkin, author "The Next Hundred Million: America in 2050", and Gabriel Heiser of medicaidsecrets.com.
Airs Thursday at 8pm & 11pm ET. Re-airs Friday at 10pm ET, Saturday at 7pm ET, Sunday at 10pm ET.

Hope you guys post it, since I don't have FBC. Paul Ryan is one sharp dude.
Would be nice if Reason ran videos of these shows after they aired for those of us who can't get Fox Business Channel from our cable provider.
They used to have them at hulu.com, but I haven't checked in a bit.
Why doesn't Stossel ever discuss foreign policy and war spending?
If you think Madoff ran a huge scam, Amway has ripped off millions of people for several decades, to the tune of 10s of billions of dollars.
Amway is a scam, and here's why: Amway pays out as little money as they can get away with, so they support the higher level IBOs ripping off their downline via the tool scam.
As a result, about 99% of IBOs operate at a net loss, while the top 1% make several TIMES more from their Amway tool scam than from the Amway products. This was made illegal in the UK in 2008, but our FTC is unable to pull their heads out of their butts to stop it here.
Read about it on this website: http://thenetprofitgroup.yolasite.com and forward the information to everyone you know, so they don't get scammed.
I once went to an Amway "spinning circles" meeting, under false pretenses by the person who invited me, and left way early.
If you can't tell Amway is a scam after attending one of those meetings, you deserve to get ripped off.
Same here. I'd sooner chew a roll of tinfoil as sell Amway.
I just found my VHS copy of a John Stossel special (20/20, 60 minutes, PBS, or something like that)I recorded off-air in the 80's. He was in Russia exploring communist life vs. capitalist life. It was interesting then and even better now. I want to put it online as a torrent file. Would that be illegal as a U.S. citizen? Would probably put it on thepiratebay.org.
Anyone?
Depends on where it comes from and if it is 'intellectual property'. Most likely it is illegal. But, so what? If you don't think there is anything wrong with it, do it.
There is no authority but yourself.
Gee, I can't wait to hear what nonsense the guy from the AARP is gonna spout. I'm sure it'll be right up there with the "84% of domestic violence is by people on meth" guy.
"medicaidsecrets.com"?
The secret is, if you're under 50 you ain't gettin' any.
Anyone watching Stossel now?
Hammer the aarp guy, John.
CYA, are hippies, they need to man up. Take it to 'em John.
Anyone?
AARp dude is slick he's got them kids fooled but John ain't having it.
Lawyer dude is way slimy, like the Simpsons character.
I appreciated Veronique's mailing/fundraising letter from George Mason's Mercatus Center two days after receiving a rejection letter from George Mason Law. The check is in the mail, V.
