Tea Party Politics: 10 Races Where It Might Matter
The National Journal, a mag for superserious politics mavens, finds 10 races in which GOP primary challengers with a rough Tea Party background or support might start shaping the Republican Party's future in 2010, including Senate races in Florida, Nevada, Arizona, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania, a House race in Virginia, and a governor's race in Iowa.

If Paul wins, a Democrat would be favored to take the seat, now held by Republican Jim Bunning.
All the polling I have seen has shown both Paul and Grayson leading over both democrats running.
Yeah I stopped on that too. I have no idea whether that's true or not, but the article nor the link they gave provided any supporting evidence for the assertion.
That normally might not be such a big deal, but in a state McCain won by 16 points and Bush won by 20 and currently has two Republican senators, I'd like a little background on why they think the Democrat would be favored.
They might be right for all I know, but they didn't show their work.
It's based on the well founded belief that right thinking folks would never vote for people who are out of line with the establishments of the two wings of the the party of this single party system.
the story links to a NYT's piece that makes that exact statement without citing a single poll either. pretty weak regurgitation by the Nat'l Journal.
on the PA senate race: fuck Pat Toomey, he is a neocon, do not trust this bastard.
Hayworth in Arizona sounds like an anti-immigration nut job from what I've heard- anyone supported by Joe Arpaio makes me take pause.
I know, I was mildly excited about McCain getting a primary challenge, until I heard his opponent was being touted by that thug Arpaio.
Okay, I'm pretty damn disappointed in most of these people as "limited government" candidates.
Where's NM-03?
