I've update The Community Reinvestment Act, Evaluated with the comments/links my original posting generated, and I added a table of contents so you can get straight to the info on large vs. small institutions (the left defends the CRA by evaluating its impact on small lenders, but used it to suck trillions out of large ones that operated under different rules). I also found a second source for the claim that institutions the act didn't cover were impacted by it (i.e. "these regulations are what you will face if you don't cooperate 'voluntarily', so get with the program if you know what's good for you").
If you haven't checked it out, read the article that drove MNG from Reason's comment boards (he was all over my original post, but I really haven't seen him much, if at all, since).
From the text of the latest bin Laden message for Obama, it looked like MNG was his speech writer.
"Leaders of these groups have declared to have links in various places around the world to help them ensure the delivery of aid without being detected by the armed forces of enemy governments."
Fuck the Haitians, I need this service!
And on hacking...
"In order to comply with government search warrants on user data, Google created a backdoor access system into Gmail accounts. This feature is what the Chinese hackers exploited to gain access."
So if Fuek Yu nabs my sensitive info and steals my ID, I can blame the government and the line of mental defectives that proceeded the current mental defectives in office basically? And Google for caving to these fucks?
Later, in the same storie...
"The problem is that such control makes us all less safe. Whether the eavesdroppers are the good guys or the bad guys, these systems put us all at greater risk. Communications systems that have no inherent eavesdropping capabilities are more secure than systems with those capabilities built in. And it's bad civic hygiene to build technologies that could someday be used to facilitate a police state."
Well said.
I swear I saw that Google "storie" someplace else this weekend 😉
As a local reader of your publication, I just wish we could offer the president more support rather than focusing on bad news.
My daughter, Mali... I mean Agnes, was just saying there's too much bad news and not enough focus on the President's recent targeted stimulus program that's expected to save or create 2.35 million manufacturing sector jobs, many in swing states.
Turn out Ellie Light...the party's over....all good things.....must come to an end....
I am "Ellie Light."
Trust me, that doesn't work. They just end up crucifying the whole bunch of you.
Well, thanks a lot. There's another movie I guess I won't have to bother renting when it comes out on video.
Let's take a closer look in this week's Breakdown.
MichelLE = Ellie. Obama = "Light" of the World. LE "Light" = Ellie Light.
Her statements about lack of media support are deliciously ironic, and for that we thank her.
What if someone calls us a pair 'o pathetic peripatetics?
God willing, I will be blown to smithereens very soon.
I just wish we could offer the president more support rather than focusing on bad news.
Tinkerbell is losing altitude.
Clap, goddammit!
Clap, goddammit!
No, I'm pretty sure it's chlamydia.
Penicillin either way....
It is not OK for people to have multiple identities. This is something that people in the news business and in the business of printing "letters to the editor" need to be aware of.
Don't listen to them, Reason.
Word.
The real Ellie light here. maybe NSFW.
Who works where platform shoe ads are not safe for work?
Ellie Light?
How many times (in how many towns) did Ellie vote in the Mass special election?
Not enough.
Racist!
Well done.
A lot of the blog comments linked to the story seemed convinced Ellie Light is Samantha Power.
"Power" and "Light"?
Nah, too obvious blasphemous corny.
As a local reader of your <insert publication name>, I beg you to cast aside your "facts" about the president and join me in a sybaritic love fest for the one they call Obama.
Is he like The Man Called Sting?
Or A Man Called Hawk? If Obama were to shave his head, grow a goatee, and start spouting off philosophy while kicking ass on a regular basis, well, my attitude towards him might change. In fact, how about he resigns in favor of Avery Brooks right now?
+1
So Obama is the Ellie Lightbringer?
For the first time ever, I agree with OBL. I, too, endorse terrorists lighting their junk on fire.
Scorched wedding tackle brings all races and creeds together.
Speaking of junk, a recent Reader's Digest had on its cover the phrase, "Cash for Your Junk." I hadn't realized the economic situation was already that dire.
Which Digest was that?
Legit Hell I is an anagram for Ellie Light. What can this mean?
Noting the "L.E." usage above--could "Ellie" be. . .Lucifer? Lucifer Evil Light?
Were you watching the Ninth Gate last night?
I don't even know what that is. I'm a father.
Which means that I don't get to watch movies very often anymore.
Except for Das Boot. I sneaked that in last week.
There are Twelve Gates.
The bellybutton is The Ninth Gate, after vagina, mouth, anus, hands, thighs, breast cleavage, butt cleavage, and the arches of the feet but before the urethra, armpit, and profile breast overhang.
It's french. Le Light. You know, like Le Car. A completely overhyped vehicle from a struggling brand that didn't last very long.
Oh, like Le Gal. The root for our term "legal." Literally, it means, "The Frenchman."
O draconian devil
O lame saint

Being lectured by Anonymity Bot is like being insulted by Keith Olbermann.
I'm going to Haiti and stealing medical supplies now just to spite you.
a recent Reader's Digest had on its cover the phrase, "Cash for Your Junk."
Was it a story about male prostitution?
Apparently not.
I'm going to Haiti and stealing medical supplies now just to spite you.
Too much work; I'm going to go stand on the sidewalk with a "help Haiti" coffee can, and then spend the money on beer.
Good!
Good!
