I must also be anti-Texan since I am against Obama polices for the same reason I was against Bush's polices. I am against their wars, their bailouts, their debts, their take over of the health industry, their foreign aid, their trade policy, their immigration policy, etc etc.

    1. John C. Randolph   16 years ago

      I must also be anti-Texan

Bush was a damned yankee carpetbagger. No real Texan would have a granddaddy named "Prescott".

      1. Atanarjuat   16 years ago

I wonder if he talked like a redneck while he was at the Massachusetts prep school. Or at home for Thanksgiving dinner with his parents.

        1. zoltan   16 years ago

He probably liked the affectation of it.

      2. Taktix?   16 years ago

No real Texan can spell "Prescott"

        1. John C. Randolph   16 years ago

          I'm not a Texan. 😉

          -jcr

        2. Tomcat1066   16 years ago

Maybe not, but they can cut and paste it with the best of them 😉

  2. dbcooper   16 years ago

png > bmp for web browsing

  3. Hugh Akston   16 years ago

    This flowchart is racist.

  4. J sub D   16 years ago

I made it all the wat to "Are you white" before I fell out.

    1. Warren   16 years ago

See how much more complex and nuanced race relations are in Obama's America. Up until now, that was the first question.

  5. Jonas   16 years ago

Haha. I actually laughed almost out loud at this.

  6. Just saying...   16 years ago

But did anyone else get excited when you heard somebody called Obama a liar during his speech, but then got down when you realized he was from South Carolina?

    1. Hugh Akston   16 years ago

Ho ho! What a delightfully ironic display of the basic principal of racism. Well done, sir.

    2. Jonas   16 years ago

That was what was most funny about that SNL skit. That and the fact that the only thing Joe Wilson is really known for, besides the outburst, is something to do with support for the Confederate flag.

  7. brotherben   16 years ago

I support the president. In fact, if I ever meet him, I'm gonna give him a pat on the back and a loud "atta-boy!"

  8. Oh no not this again   16 years ago

Are you sure you guys aren't Republicans?

Are you sure this wasn't posted by Matt Welch?

    1. Lud the Impalo   16 years ago

Are you sure you are not a Communist?

Are you sure your name is not Josef Che Sunbeam Mao?

    2. Hazel Meade   16 years ago

Are you sure you're not white?
Are you sure you read the question correctly?

    3. Tomcat1066   16 years ago

Are you sure you're not an idiot?

Because if you say you're not, I don't believe you.

    4. Mango Punch   16 years ago

      ONNTA=Racially enlightened, no?

    5. JB   16 years ago

Sounds like someone needs to be Polanski'd.

  9. Bee   16 years ago

Where is the page? How do you get to stuff that is older than, say, 3 hours ago?

  10. Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer   16 years ago

I don't understand these crazy flashing screens, "reply to this" links frighten me, I'm just a caveman, but what I do know is having to go out of HnR to see the next post is just retarded.

    1. Squirrel   16 years ago

You don't have to leave the post. The links have been restored. Look right above the orange bar.

      1. SIV   16 years ago

        Mr. Squirrel,

It sure would be nice if the first page contained, at the least, all of today's posts .

      2. sage   16 years ago

Where is the rest of the blog? You've been a busy squirrel today, haven't you?

  11. Warty   16 years ago

    "Remember me" checkboxes are racist.

    1. JB   16 years ago

Seriously. I have to uncheck each time because I is scared of the cookie monster.

  12. Fist of Etiquette   16 years ago

Remember name, email, and website on this computer for 30 days?

I have a feeling our cycles are all gonna synch now.

    1. tekende   16 years ago

      Threadwinner. Right there.

  13. Xeones   16 years ago

    Threaded comments are racist.

    1. Pro Libertate   16 years ago

Don't be ridiculous! Threaded comments aren't racist.

      They're fascist.

      1. Hazel Meade   16 years ago

Fucking libertarian facists. I hate them even more than those communist Nazis.

        1. Tomcat1066   16 years ago

It's fucking libertarian RACIST fascists. Get it right!

          1. Mango Punch   16 years ago

and it's fucking Communits RACIALLY PROGRESSIVE Nazis. Get it right!

            1. D-FENS   16 years ago

But what about Illinois Nazis? I hate Illinois Nazis.

              1. JB   16 years ago

Really hate Illinois Nazis and their damned Nazi Olympics.

  14. Johnny Longtorso   16 years ago

Checking out my awesome comments on a previous thread is also racist.

    http://reason.com/blog/2009/10.....nt_1405244

    1. JB   16 years ago

      Using search feature = racist.

  15. Tulpa   16 years ago

Why are you assuming racists are anti-Obama? I'd think they'd favor what he's doing for the reputation of racism.

  16. BakedPenguin   16 years ago

...but then got down when you realized he was from South Carolina?

    "Yo, I got a solution - you're a dick! South Carolina, represent!"

    1. zoltan   16 years ago

Sad, pathetic Southern states, you shall never match the Almighty Texas!

      1. Tomcat1066   16 years ago

Maybe not, but Georgia is so awesome, we only need to say it once!

OK...not really, but I figured "what the hell"

    2. zoltan   16 years ago

Sad, pathetic Southern states, you shall never match the Almighty Texas!

  17. sage   16 years ago

You know, I might be crazy, but it looks to me like you can even reply to older comments, such as this crystal ball prediction by yours truly.

  18. Colin   16 years ago

Reminds me of that Ayn Rand flowchart they had up a few months ago.

  19. yonemoto   16 years ago

This flowchart is clearly wrong. I got caught in an infinite loop, but I hate Asians, so I know I'm racist.

  20. Pro Libertate   16 years ago

    Sage,

I went back to that thread and told Stevo that a wise Latina would be appointed to the SCOTUS.

    1. sage   16 years ago

You should have also told him he would become a RACIST.

  21. Johnny Longtorso   16 years ago

Reminds me of that Ayn Rand flowchart they had up a few months ago.

They charted her flow? Which week of the month was it?

    1. Elemenope   16 years ago

      Ayn Rand's flow.

      1. Johnny Longtorso   16 years ago

No, I'm not following that link. Never, never, never. 🙂

        1. Joel   16 years ago

How do you ever hope to achieve perfection if you don't follow Ayn Rand's flow?

  22. vanya   16 years ago

It's very simple. If you think Obama is ineffectual, a tool of corporate elite interests, a weak leader, or a misguided liberal, or if Obama just plains annoys the hell out of you, you are not a racist. If, on the other hand, you sincerely believe Obama is a "Marxist", a "radical leftist" or "hates America" then chances are you are either a racist or just a moron. Reason's defensiveness on this issue makes me wonder about the editors and people who post here.

    1. Tulpa   16 years ago

Perhaps you should read Reason's voluminous citations of people in the MSM and lefty blogosphere who are shouting racism whenever a non-leftist disagrees with Obama. Sometimes the defensive really are under attack.

  23. Warty   16 years ago

a tool of corporate elite interests,

Fucking corporations, all up in their corporate buildings, acting all corporationy.

    1. Tulpa   16 years ago

      You know, they make money.

      1. Tomcat1066   16 years ago

They make money? The evil racist bastards!

        1. Joel   16 years ago

I'll bet they follow Ayn Rand's flow.

  24. Rich   16 years ago

If ... you sincerely believe Obama is ... a "radical leftist" ... then chances are you are either a racist or just a moron.

    Citation needed.

  25. KyleG   16 years ago

The Rand chart is funnier. The racist chart should ask whether you are white before asking if you are Republican and if you are from the south.

  26. BlueBook   16 years ago

    Are You an Anti-Obama Racist?

As opposed to a pro-Obama racist?

  27. Taktix?   16 years ago

But... but... Glenn Beck said Obama is racist, so I'm just racist against racists...

    It's like meta-racist, you wouldn't understand.

  28. Morris   16 years ago

    Conservative cuteness trumps racism. Fuck!

  29. Warty   16 years ago

    Shut the fuck up, Lefiti.

  30. Troy   16 years ago

I wish some NFL team would change their name to the Caucasians. Then I could be the mascot. Call me mighty whitey. Then Warty could buff my ass so bright, you'd have to wear sunglasses to take in awesomness of my whiteness.

  31. Morris   16 years ago

Ron Paul's newsletters. I rest my case.

  32. Long time reader   16 years ago

    For Pro-Obama racists, see http://www.esquire.com/the-sid.....ama-061308

some quotes: "White people are faced with either a negro or a total nutter who happens to have a pale face. Personally I'd prefer the negro. National Socialists are not mindless haters. Here, I see a white man, who is almost dead, who declares he wants to fight endless wars around the globe to make the world safe for Judeo-capitalist exploitation, who supports the invasion of America by illegals--basically a continuation of the last eight years of Emperor Bush. Then, we have a black man, who loves his own kind, belongs to a Black-Nationalist religion, is married to a black women--when usually negroes who have 'made it' immediately land a white spouse as a kind of prize--that's the kind of negro that I can respect. Any time that a prominent person embraces their racial heritage in a positive manner, it's good for all racially minded folks. Besides, America cares nothing for the interests of the white American worker, while having a love affair with just about every non-white on planet Earth. It'd be poetic justice to have a non-white as titular chief over this decaying modern Sodom and Gomorrah."

    1. Art-P.O.G.   16 years ago

Thanks for that link. Those guys get points for having, um "fairly original" beliefs, but all those points deducted for being borderline insane. I especially love the Neo-Nazi dude, who I'm guessing has all sorts of praise for Hitler, with a long list of grievances against Bush. OMGLOLFTW.

  33. Eupraxsophy   16 years ago

I think that the flow chart itself is prejudiced in that it assumes that if you are white, from the south, or don't agree with Obama that you're a racist.

Why is there such a need to lable someone simply because you may not agree with them?

If Obama has done anything right, it was uplifting the ban that Bush had implimented on seeing our fallen soldiers on their final return home from war. We need to see their sacrifice so that we can be humbled and know that war should never be conveniant, pretty, or for profit. But rather only when necessary.

The destination of wisdom and enlightenment is traveled down the path of humility.

From the variety of life springs forth the fountain of diversity which only makes us more distingushed and less insignificant.

    1.   16 years ago

Uhh, the chart is a joke.

      1. JB   16 years ago

        Sarcasm is racist.

        1. BeatMe   16 years ago

That's because understanding sarcasm is a sign of intelligence

  34. Cracker's Boy   16 years ago

I am still a racist if I hate only the white half of Obama?

    CB

    1. brotherben   16 years ago

      nope, just half-assed.

      1. Mango Punch   16 years ago

How can you hate the Oreo-cream filling?

    2. BeatMe   16 years ago

I am still a racist if I hate only the white half of Obama? No it only makes you the same as Obama himself

  35. Some Guy   16 years ago

The ratio of times I've heard people (who hadn't just actually said something openly racist) called a racist for disagreeing with Obama to the number of times I've heard people complain that anyone who disagrees with him gets called a racist is near infinity.

    1. Mango Punch   16 years ago

H(People called racist for being racist)/H(People complain about being called racist) => infinity?

So you've heard people openly say racist things about Obama WAY more than you've heard people compain about being called racist for disagreeing?

      1. Some Guy   16 years ago

No, I'd say that's maybe .1 to .3 or so. I can't been actually keeping count, just noticing the discrepancy.

  36. Eupraxsophy   16 years ago

    In response to Cracker Boy,

You're only a racist if you judge others solely on the merits of your own self love.

Humility is the opposition of pride.

Humility causes one to see the beauty in that which is superficially ugly, and see the uglyness in that which is superficially beautiful.

    1. Sweaty White Guy   16 years ago

It's not the heat; it's the humility.

  37. Pro Libertate   16 years ago

    Troy,

    They already have the Vikings.

  38.   16 years ago

    Eupraxsophy

You're taking this much too seriously.

  39. Scooby   16 years ago

    Are You an Anti-Obama Racist?

As opposed to a pro-Obama racist?

    Like Rev. Wright?

  40. P Brooks   16 years ago

Humility is the opposition of pride.

    [citation needed]

  41. JB   16 years ago

    We is all racist now!

  42. BeatMe   16 years ago

Uh-oh,the unemployment rate just went up to 9.8%(17% including those who are worn down from looking). This makes Obama look bad. When are they going to excise these hate-facts from tv? It is obviously racist information and intended to make Obama look incompetent.

  43. Jeff B.   16 years ago

I like what you guys did with the comment system. Much neater. I just wish the articles weren't centered like that.

That said, I guess I'm an anti-Obama racist. Woot.

  44. OBAMA = OSAMA   16 years ago
