Senate Candidate (Dr.) Rand Paul on C-SPAN: "Does our problem with stem from too much government already involved in medicine or too little government?"
Rand Paul, an eye doctor and son of Ron, is running for the Senate in Kentucky. He appeared this morning on C-SPAN's Washington Journal. His full appearance is worth watching, especially regarding his comments on the health care debate.

He was actually on yesterday morning. It was quite interesting to watch him speak. I'd only seen very small and short interviews with him in the past. He is a much better speaker than his father, I think. The callers were often hilarious, some thinking he was actually already elected and other going off on cute anti-market rants against him.
Totally agree WWJGD. I think Paul Sr.'s biggest weakness, by a large degree, is his speaking skills. Yes, I know what he's talking about in his interviews now because I've been exposed to the ideas often enough, but were I completely ignorant of monetary policy or libertarian ideas I wouldn't be able to make sense of his ramblings. I was actually introduced to him via one of the famous Youtube fan compilations of debates/interviews during the 08 campaign, where his talking points were edited to be pointed and clear. Absent that intial introduction, I don't think Paul would have been as great an influence on me.
A combination of Ron Paul's ideas and Rand Paul's presentation has a LOT of potential IMO.
Also, exciting news today. Peter Schiff announced his official entry into the CT Senate race: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNEKjTV0N_Y
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., on Thursday questioned whether a Senate health-care proposal was affordable for the middle class and expressed concerns about its effect on the elderly.
Well, this guy seems young enough that he won't let his goofy friends put racist jokes in his newsletter.
We have a stem problem?
Rand Paul is really Ron Paul's clone, not his son, isn't he?
By the way, while we're all here distracted by stuff like ACORN and the health care debate, as we speak Congress has just quietly voted to completely take over the student loan program, which is somewhere in the neighborhood of $100 billion a year.
Rand Paul has a dad who is friends with a guy who knows somebody who used the N word once AND he said black guys are good at jumping...in other words he is a racist so lets just give Obama a chance here ok guys?
Cosmotarian Overlord: don't go to such ridiculous lengths to torture out a conclusion like that. There's no need. Obviously if he isn't with Obama's healthcare reforms he's racist.
Tell Schiff to know his role and shut his mouth. If ya smeeeeeeeeeellllllllllllll........
He's like his daddy but I don't zone out halfway through his speech. I think he's got a shot. If I lived in KY, I'd vote for him.
Rand Paul is for the people, unless you want your children to have human implant RFID chips, a National ID card and create a North American Union and see an economic collapse far worse than the great depression. Vote for Rand Paul he speaks the truth and the media and government is afraid of him. This is the last honest politician left to bring this country out of this rut from the War Profiteers and obama Administration has created. Get motivated America, don't believe the lies of the media! Go Rand Paul! Value Freedom and Liberty instead of corporate lies and corruption. Bypass this media blackout they are doing to Rand Paul, tell your family and friends and get involved in a local group at meetup.com make your voice heard! He will end the War In Iraq immediately, He will eliminate the IRS and wasteful government spending, and eliminate the Federal Reserve and restore power to the people and the only person running who won't be a member of the CFR. Can any other runner make these claims or give Americans the true freedom we were all raised to believe? We are all economic slaves to the banks and the illegal federal Reserve. This is why our currency is worth nothing because of Hidden Inflation Tax and the IRS taking everything you make!
** RAND PAUL WILL STOP THE IRAQ WAR IMMEDIATELY! **
Rand Paul will NEVER vote:
* to raise taxes
* for an unbalanced budget
* to raise congressional pay
* for a federal restriction on gun ownership
* to increase the power of the executive branch
He WILL vote:
* against the Iraq war
* against the inappropriately named USA PATRIOT act
* against regulating the internet
* against the Military Commissions Act
He will eliminate the IRS, Wasteful Government Spending & Stop The Iraq War Immediately! Most importantly, he will vote NO on anything in Congress that is not allowed by the Constitution. He even responded eloquently to the crazy call-in person!
This is the last honest politician left...
Easy now, there are a handful of good ones out there. Don't forget about Peter Schiff.
I'm impressed with Rand Paul he's a much better public speaker than his father. I really like Peter Schiff & hope he wins, but I once saw a video of him joking around about armed revolution against the government. You just can say things like that & expect to win a political campaign. Your opponents will ripe you apart for it.
Cabaza, I imagine Schiff's father will become a talking point for his running mates as well.
