Shoe-Throwing Iraqi Gets Three Years; Shoe-Throwing Americans Get Four Years
The sentencing for the most famous shoe-thrower outside of Klagg, Swedish Detective:
The Iraqi journalist who threw shoes at then-President George W. Bush was convicted Thursday of assaulting a foreign leader and sentenced to three years in prison, lawyers said. He shouted "long live Iraq" when the sentence was read.
The sentencing for the shoe-throwers in Dupont Circle the night before President Barack Obama was sworn in (and for the rest of us)? Four to eight years of exactly what they asked for. Hope. Change. Rinse. Repeat.

Three years seems a bit harsh. But he gets to appeal it, an option unavailable under the previous regime. All in all he has become a martyr and a People's Hero without losing his head. Not bad for that part of the world.
four years seems much worse...

Well they are all airheads anyway, so they won't even realize what they're getting.
Bernies off to life in federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison today. He'll have it much worse than the Iraqi guy, who will probably be a hero behind bars.
Is Madoff going to a real prison or a "white-collar" prison? They should put him in Leavenworth. For the lulz.
Sucks for those of us who didn't throw shoes and got four-to-eight anyway. RADLEY SHOULD WRITE ABOUT THAT
Epi, not sure. I can't see them being lenient though. Their govts only concession was that they didn't make him plea guilty to conspiracy, which would have included naming names of people (family) he worked with. I think in turn for that, they get to throw the book at him.
but yeah, he'll probably be in low security, for non-violent offenders. Not specifically white collar, but, usually it ends up that way.
Damn, that snark almost seems wasted without joe around to cry about it.
joe is here in spirit, John-David. He yet "looms large," as he would put it.
You may be certain that "joe" is throwing shoes somewhere...
At this rate, U.S. citizens will be begging for Islamo-Fascism in about 20 years for the increase in liberty it will bring.
