I find that I do not align with any well-established political viewpoint that has a name associated with it. So I've called myself pro-death. I looked for what commonality there is in all of my work and in all of my political views and realized that I support abortion, capital punishment, and a strong military. When I put together the things I'm in favor of, the only thing they had in common was that they all ended up killing someone, whether it was a fetus or a terrorist.

Dee Snyder did a pretty good job with Algore back in the day, but I can't think of anyone else off the top of my head who's showed Congress the disrespect it deserves.

That strip is hilarious. Well done, Mr. Adams. Well done. However, his flippant remark in regards to abortion is disturbing. Not in being pro-choice, as I can see a really legitimate reason for being pro-choice (believing that the fetus is not yet an alive human being...when is consciousness achieved?), but to just admit that you support killing an innocent human being (and he implies he thinks it is a human being) is pretty f'ed up. Again, maybe he was just being flippant and it skipped past my humor gland. Anyhow, this particular "episode" of Dilbert is hilarious and dogbert was 100% correct. The US congress is filled to the rim with detestable hypocrites.

I rarely do this but Adam's is one of the few 'artists' I've stopped keeping tabs on because of his other endeavors like his blog. Reading it makes me wonder what planet he lives on. His observations on evolution being one of them. I have no more interest in enriching him.

I agree with you, but with one caveat. They can both be really, REALLY funny once in a while. So you end up watching/reading a whole bunch terrible strips/shows in the hopes that it will be one of those diamonds in the rough. This, incidentally, is what makes them overrated.

Tina Fey being massively overrated is part of what makes 30 Rock so overrated. Why oh why can't SNL just go off the air? Even MadTV mostly sucks now since every one of the earliest cast members are gone. I was watching them try and do a Pacino/DeNiro skit and the new guy doing DeNiro was awful. They can never top the Frank Caliendo as Pacino/Will Sasso as DeNiro skits.

1998-2002. They had Will Sasso, Michael McDonald, Debra Wilson, Aries Spears, Alex Borstein, Mo Collins, (and Frank Caliendo at the end).

This was their golden period. A number of years ago Comedy Central bought the old episodes and had the good sense to run almost exclusively episodes from those seasons. I TiVo'd and lolled my ass off.

As soon as Sasso left, it started to go downhill and is very bad now. But you can see his Kenny Rogers sketches on YouTube, at least.

The Gig Gay Comedy Sketch Show on the LOGO channel is funny as heck. They have this guy who does Maya Angelou reaging the Man-to-Man personals from Craig's List. Plus, it really makes you realize just how overrated the poetry of Angelou is.

F'n tell me about it. I was pretty out of it, culturally when I Photoshopped the Linux (Tux) penguin into a stoner as a joke for some friends. I started using it as an avatar, only to discover shortly thereafter that there were about ten recent animated movies that had penguins, there had been a huge documentary smash about penguins, etc. etc.

The network won't let their big sketch shows end. Just look at SNL. The least they could do is fire all the writers and hire some new ones, but they'll never do that either.

I was just amazed that one of these types of network sketch shows was actually able to be very funny for a few seasons.
