What's Worse: Gratuitous Sinophobia or Bad Metaphors?
Mark Warner, as Nick Gillespie observed below, gave a yawner of a keynote tonight, but it was enlivened briefly by this Olympian ooga-booga graf:
Right now, at this critical moment in our history, we have one shot to get it right. And the status quo just won't cut it. Now let me tell you, if you think there've been dramatic changes in the world and in technology over the last ten years, you ain't seen nothing yet. The race is on, and if you watched the Olympics, you know China's going for the gold.
I don't think Usain Bolt has anything to worry about just yet. But Warner himself might be one step away from the winner's circle for bad Olympic metaphors, bowing down to the mad rhymes of Dennis Kucinich:
If there was an Olympics for misleading, mismanaging and misappropriating, this administration would take the gold. World records for violations of national and international laws.
Give that man the gold!
