Will Ron Paul Support a Third Party Candidate? Ask Ron Paul.
Constitution Party presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin has launched his web site, and as the boys at Third Party Watch point out, it's calculated to make him look like Ron Paul's heir. No surprise there. Constitution Party founder Howard Phillips pushed delegates to nominate Baldwin over Alan Keyes on the cryptic promise that Paul secretly supported Baldwin and that the vast riches of the Paul campaign were "resources we can look to."
I saw Ron Paul on Wednesday, at a signing event for The Revolution, and he told me he won't endorse Baldwin or Barr. He'll kinda-sorta endorse both. He won't stop them from using photos of him or talking about his campaign.
"Chuck was in my office today to say hello," Paul said. "but I haven't said anything about supporting either one of them. I support both of them in what they're doing, and I encourage them, but that's all."
"Maybe you'll endorse McCain and surprise everybody," asked one of the people walking out of the event with us. "That would surprise me, too!" said Paul. But this is actually a sticking point in the Paul campaign: Some people in his circle want him to swing his weight behind McCain once the primaries are over. At the moment, they're being overruled.
On a related note, back in Pennsylvania I asked Paul if he'd weigh in and help the "Ron Paul Republicans" who are running for office using all or part of his platform. He's started doing so in earnest, buoyed by the easy victories of candidates like BJ Lawson. Here's a quick-'n'-painful endorsement he shot for Amit Singh, fighting for Virginia's 8th district (a safe Democratic seat held by the deeply flawed Jim Moran).

Supporting McCain would be bonecrushingly stupid, as it would make him look like a GOP hack and destroy his principled image. "Sure, I ran as totally anti-war and now I'm supporting Senator McHundredYearsWar!"
What if instead of having 2 or 3 seperate parties that agree on 99% of issues we combined them into 1 party and actually rack up something more than an "Other" sliver on the popular vote pie-graph?
Bingo,
Other x 2 is equal to? Thats right, other.
I have a very hard time believing "Some people in his circle want him to swing his weight behind McCain once the primaries are over."
Episiarch why do you continue to spout the loony left lie that McCain wants a 100 years war in Iraq? It was a quote taken out of context and used by the loony far far-left liberal left wing of the Democrat Party to denigrate an honorable man.
Neil, what did you think of Traci Lord's performance when she joined the third season of First Wave? I thought she was pretty good.
Episiarch vs. Neil is far more amusing than joe vs. TallDave.
Ron Paul + Planned Jokes = A Cringe that could break the Spine...
Episiarch I'm not talking about TV shows. Im talking about how you continue to be an unwitting tool of the far-left liberals by parroting their anti-American lies.
I realize that she is an ex-porn star, Neil, but I felt like she deserved a chance. And she ran with it.
Will Reason fuck off and die? Soon. Hopefully.
Do-over:
heavy*
*Specila thanks to Episiarch.
Then McCain should refrain from making bone crushingly stupid comments even if (you can count on it) taken out of context.
Episiarch,
I agree with Neil that being in Iraq for "a hundred years" is a mischaracterization of McCain's views. McCain's neocon worldview will require the ongoing invasion of multiple countries, for eternity, or until America runs out of money.
reason sucks
Neil,
I can understand the accusation that McCain is taken out of context with regards to "stay in Iraq for 1000 years". It doesn't change the fact that he is an idiot for supporting permanent bases in North Korea, Germany and Iraq. Of course we know the democrats are in favor of the same thing. The truth is that Mchundredyears war is a good nickname, people should feel free to use it. I personally prefer "McIhategooks".
Nick, it's not fair to have expected First Wave to be equivalent to shows with much larger budgets. It was on SciFi, after all. They did a pretty good job with what they had.
Maybe Reason will endorse John McCain thus losing any remaining credibility to all libertarians just like when Cato endorsed Fred Thompson.
Gabe you're against permanent bases in South Korea, Germany, and Japan?
Thanks for outing yourself as an America-hating pacifist loony toon.
. . . he is an idiot for supporting permanent bases in North Korea, . . .
He really supports this? Have not heard that one yet. I shall see if Google truly is my friend.
Maybe Reason will endorse John McCain thus losing any remaining credibility to all libertarians just like when Cato endorsed Fred Thompson.
Who?
Neil, were you upset when they killed Zeto on Miami Vice? I know I was. I didn't expect that.
Episiarch,
Why do I get the brushoff?
I thought I was agreeing with you?
Episiarch you have a weird obsession with old tv shows. Why dont you answer my question, or are you scared like most limp-wristed America-hating leftists?
Dr. Paul stands for the right things, but his political skills are so low that I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up "pragmatically" endorsing Hillary - under the assumption that Hillary is a shoo-in to win the Democratic primary. If he doesn't, it will only be because of his principles, not because he is too politically savvy.
Bumper sticker:
H&R -- come for the trolls, stay for the rambling arguments totally unrelated to the thread's topic!
Nick, it's just part of a running gag. You mentioned Neil. It's not a brushoff.
It is hard to figure just who/what Reason is for or against. Wishie washie. Talk about cringe..I cringe before I open the site. I find Reason to be usually disappointing and unproductive. I don't think I'll come back to peek in again.
I'm sure Neil knows all about loony radicals quoting stuff out of context in order to denigrate someone.
I'm against Japanese bases in the United States too. Gee, I must hate Japan or something.
Funny Neil, you sound like Cosmotarian Overlord. Do you really think that wanting to keep tax dollars in Americans pockets or at a minimum, if Joe was in charge, use the money for domestic spending and making sure we don't need to call on the mexican army troops to come to New Orleans....you think that is anti-American?
You think Germany can't afford to pay for their own defense from Russia? You think we should subsideize them in this way? Why not just send them the money and not risk our soldiers lives? Do you hate American soldiers this much?
Do you think highly decorated Marine General Smedley Butler hated America? Try reading his books and see. He might be a little less biased than the draft dodging chickenhawks you trust.
Taktix,
That would be Rep. Harry F. Cato.
Gabe you moron Germany, Japan, and South Korea pay for our bases we dont spend a cent on taxpayer money to operate those bases.
But if you think America being involved in the world is expensive wait until you see a world without us.
So you're actually saying that killing Zeto was a boost for the show, Neil? For me, Switek working alone after that was depressing. It marked the beginning of the end.
I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up "pragmatically" endorsing Hillary
You're both wrong.
Ron Paul is showing signs of Obamamania.
Neil, don't you think Tracy Lords has done as much, or more, to overcome a tawdry, sordid past and succeed in mainstream entertainment?
Your kind of Isolationism, Gabe, is what allowed Hitler to come to power. That kind of
Charles Lindbergh America hating.
Neil,
Actually, crediting McCain with wanting to remain at war in Iraq for 100 years is too charitable to McCain.
That would mean that he has a timetable for withdrawal: 100 years and we're out of there.
His official position is actually much worse: that there is no cost level the Iraq war can attain, in lives or tax dollars, that will induce him to withdraw, ever, period. There is no length of time we could be bogged down in Iraq that will lead him to withdraw and reevaluate, period.
That means that McCain doesn't support a 100 year war, he supports an infinite war. Given your other posts here, I doubt you are very good at math, so I'll help you out: Infinity is higher than 100, Neil.
Neil, people deserve second chances. Even mediocre porn stars like Traci.
Neil,
You know, I'm starting to wonder if you're real. Are you sure you aren't thoreau?
Bless Ron Paul. What an gracious man, to talk to a douchebag such as yourself.
You're both wrong.
Ron Paul is showing signs of Obamamania.
Wow, Josh Silverstein must be able to jump like Jackie Joyner-Kersey to reach conclusion that far off...
Your kind of Isolationism, Gabe, is what allowed Hitler to come to power.
Well, that didn't take long...
Actually, Neil, your kind of interventionism is what allowed Hitler to come into power.
Fluffy we must stay until Iraq is made a peaceful, democratic, capitalist state and an ally of America and Israel in our War on Islamofascist Terror.
I know you prefer surrendering to those people that want us all dead, and thinking that will stop them from doing things like flying planes into office buildings and blowing up subways but you're seriously mistaken my friend.
Theres a reason we haven't been attacked on our soil since 9/11. Its not because of luck. Its because George Bush has KEPT US SAFE by taking the fight to our enemies.
Episiarch,
Speaking of MV, I was a big fan of CPT Realestate. Loved his radio show too.
Ummm, OK?
Wow,...just...wow!!
It might take a long time I won't lie. Its going to be long, its going to be hard, its going to be tough. Its a twilight generational struggle between two civilizations that may not end in our lifetimes. But eventually we won't surrender, and THEY WILL.
Wow, Josh Silverstein must be able to jump like Jackie Joyner-Kersey to reach conclusion that far off...
I don't know. Obama strikes me as the most Paulian of the three. He's probably better than Hilary domestically, and he's probably better than both of them on war.
Fluffy we must stay until Iraq is made a peaceful, democratic, capitalist state and an ally of America and Israel in our War on Islamofascist Terror.
Right, like I said, you and McCain favor an infinite war.
A democratic Iraq might not be a capitalist state. It might not be peaceful. [We're a democracy, and we aren't peaceful.] It might not be an ally of the United States. It is virtually certain that it would not be an ally of Israel.
Your wish list is internally contradictory. This is one reason it will never be attained. There are others, but this will do to demonstrate that you and McCain favor a war of infinite duration.
Wiegel, I'm surprised you didn't bring up the fact that most of Bladwin's supporters are white and Christian. Don't you know how to score political points with your base anymore?
Neil, do you like gladiator movies?
Damn Neil, I'd hate to live with your mindset. The mindset where every country in the world needs American Military presence lest you feel castrated and weak.
Fluffy its well known that democracies don 't fight other democracies.
"Gabe you moron Germany, Japan, and South Korea pay for our bases we dont spend a cent on taxpayer money to operate those bases."
and the Iraq war has been paid for with oil revenues.
I think it is funny that I have fallen for debating with a knock off on cosmotarian overlord...Michael Young is that you?
Have you ever been to a Turkish prison, Neil?
WE are the only country that can prevent the globe from erupting into conflict. By us being involved in the world, we can be a force for freedom and limit what conflicts do occour.
We are, and should be the global policeman because you can bet your ass if we don't play that will someone else (China) will. I don't want a world where China or Russia is the global superpower and we become the France of the 21st Century.
Neil, have you ever seen a grown man naked?
Examples of democracies fighting democracies
I would say that World War I was an example of democracies fighting other democracies, since Germany was a parliamentary monarchy before the generals took control as the war went bad.
But even if democracies don't tend to go to war with other democracies, they aren't necessarily allies. India is not an ally of Israel, Neil. Turkey is not an ally of Israel. Russia is not an ally of Israel.
And if Iraq becomes a democracy, it will not be an ally of Israel for the simple reason that all of its potential voters and leaders think that Israel sucks moose cock. Who in Iraq is going to vote to be an ally of Israel? No one, unless we stay there with guns to their heads.
And democracies don't automatically cooperate to fight terror, either, Neil. Great Britain and Ireland were both democracies in the 70's, but Ireland had no particular interest in fighting the IRA for the Brits. Neither did we, when you get right down to it. We went through the motions but our opposition to the IRA was extremely lukewarm. So we have no real reason to believe that a democratic Iraq will go out of its way to isolate itself in the Arab world by, say, helping Israel fight Hamas. Na Ga Happen.
Did I miss anything? I was busy playing global thermonuclear war on the whopper of a cumputer we have in the basement here at the office.
Neil,
You should certainly break that news to the United Kingdom and Finland (at war 1941-1945).
You know, I find it interesting that Neil's name links to a travesty of a website that can't even hold to it's mission statement...on the same page!
Issues
So Neil's site supports neither free markets(labor) nor free people(the right to our own bodies).
Sorry Neil, how's about getting serious with your life choices and then come back to talk. Mmmkay?
Dr. Paul endorsing McCain?
The Constitutionalist Libertarain endorsing the Butcher of Black Mesa?
Only right after the Yellowstone wolves endorse Butch Otter!
cumputer: Where the hookers and pole dancers for the GTA series are also modeled.
Neil, you're a damn good performance artist, but don't you think it's time to take a bow and roll the credits? We're all dying to find out who you really are.
Here's a quick-'n'-painful endorsement he shot for Amit Singh, fighting for Virginia's 8th district
an endorsement never felt so lousy...
and LunchBomb.com...? oh boy.
Seems that one of us here already knows this answer. Don't we Dr. T?
Dr. T., I have asked "Neil" that many times and have been ignored.
Unless it's you...
i think the nickname "captain foreverwar" rolls off the tongue better, myself.
*Chuckle* I would never use multiple identities. I suggest that you read "Classical Philosophy and the Art of Santorum" before you embarrass yourself any further, you ignoramus.
Nick, it's just part of a running gag.
In that case, I haven't seen First Wave, but I assume that it's about nineteenth-century feminism.
Uh, yeah. I'd like a Double WOPR with cheese and a side of fries. Oh! And can you give one of them Tic-Tac-Toe meals too?
SEE! SEE! Neil disappears for a moment, and thoreau pops in asking him to drop the act! J'accuse!
before you embarrass yourself any further, you ignoramus
I'm just going to assume the ignoramus part was directed at Kwix as there's no way you could be referring to me.
And can you give one of them Tic-Tac-Toe meals too?
Nobody ever wins that one.
In that case, I haven't seen First Wave, but I assume that it's about nineteenth-century feminism.
Here you go.

You know what's really lousy? Having Moran (yes that is how it is spelled in VA) as a rep. Cringe or no cringe, how about helping us who live in the "belly of the beast" out and visiting lunchbomb.com. Since everyone cancelled their reason subscriptions they have at least $20 and Amit's only asking half of that.
Excuse me, Neil, but do you speak jive?
Episiarch:
I like pie.
Gordan Freeman 2008!
Oh, never mind, Bramblyspam beat me to it.
According to that link, there are numerous instances of democracies going to war with each other, but in each and every case there are special circumstances making one of the warring parties to be not a true Scotsman, I mean democracy.
Ach, if it nae fits *my* definition of democracy, then it's nae democracy, and if ye say otherwise, I'll play on my bagpipes so I will nae be able to hear ye.
I dunno, Dr. T has called me much worse in the past so it may have been directed at you. Of course, once he learns how to be a real physicist his tone and demeanor may settle down a bit. 🙂
Episarch, running gag. Sort of like your calling out of crappy 1980s action shows but involving long missing denizens of this blog.
Actually it's about nineteenth-century female hair styles. The follow-on series "The First Perm" didn't do as well.
Pro Libertate
Come to think of it, has anyone ever seen them together?
Hmmmm.
Reason sucks.
Sort of like your calling out of crappy 1980s action shows but involving long missing denizens of this blog.
Crappy?!?
Traci Lords would make a far better president than John McCain.
-jcr
Tell the people "in his circle" who want RP to endorse McCain to kindly leave that circle. No speaking slot at the convention is worth such a sell-out.
There's nothing to endorse. McCain is not a conservative nor libertarian, he is a right-wing social democrat. What would be the point?
Yes. Crappy. What other adjective would you ascribe to Miami Vice? Colorful perhaps but colorful crap is still crap.
But this is actually a sticking point in the Paul campaign: Some people[who?] in his circle want him to swing his weight behind McCain once the primaries are over.[citation needed]
What other adjective would you ascribe to Miami Vice?
Pre CPT Realestate, maybe, but not during.
Why would Dr. Paul endorse anyone, he hasn't dropped out of the race.
H&R -- come for the trolls, stay for the rambling arguments totally unrelated to the thread's topic!
QFT
Why would Dr. Paul endorse anyone, he hasn't dropped out of the race.
Ah, yes, so that would make Mrs. Clinton his natural choice.
John McCain a conservative? You got to be kidding me - unless your definition of a conservative is someone who spends our grandkid's money like a drunken sailor so our country can go kill Arabs who have done us no harm.
When McCain loses big in November maybe he can go hunt Osama bin Laden as a private bounty hunter - I just might buy him a one-way ticket to Afghanistan.

While thoreau is undoubtably clever and twisted enough to pull off something similar to the Neil schtick, the good professor has a real job. He would be unable devote the time necessary to be the intertube pestilence that is Neil.
We must look elsewhere.
QFT
How did we get threadjacked into quantum field theory?
While thoreau is undoubtably clever and twisted enough to pull off something similar to the Neil schtick, the good professor has a real job. He would be unable devote the time necessary to be the intertube pestilence that is Neil.
Maybe that's what he wants you to think.
(So this is what being a Truther feels like.)
J sub D,
I note for the record that thoreau's ability to post as Neil in this thread has clearly been limited by his need to post as "thoreau", which, incidentally, sounds suspiciously like a pseudonym to me. Nah, he's Neil. Besides, he's just using some obscure Firefox plugin to automatically submit posts. If you read "Neil" carefully, you'll note that many of his comments don't require actual knowledge of other comments in the thread. Kind of like bin Laden videos.
How did we get threadjacked into quantum field theory?
Renormalization.
Im a real person. What do you want me to do post my phone # so you can call me??
Quantum theory: good
TReaosn: run by twits
Im a real person. What do you want me to do post my phone # so you can call me??
It's been done.
By Donderooooooooo!
Neil, a phone number is a good start. Also, pictures, preferably of hot chicks and not you.
Your full name so we can compare it against Freedom's Watch contributors.
Or you can just admit you're an art project. Come on, you know you want to.
And Neil, you don't have the stones to post a e-mail address, so just keep talking shit you won't dare back up.
I might do that when pepole start responding to my points instead of talking about shitty left-wing tv shows.
I'm with Neil--I hate shitty, left-wing TV shows.
Left-wing?!? Miami Vice and First Wave are left-wing?
I hate shitty shows, Episiarch.
Work with me here, ProL.
Give me a break Episiarch everyone knows Hollywood is a hotbed of leftism and grown up red diaper babies sneaking their radical socialist agenda into 99% of tv shows and movies.
I LIKE PIE!!
I hated Manimal, Episiarch. It was a shitty man + animal show.
David,
There is no cake.
Kwix,
Taunt me not with the lack of cake.
Well, yes, Manimal was pretty brutal, and not in the good way. I tend to forget some of the worse shows because I was pretty young.
Ok, who's old enough to remember Space:1999?
Ron's sellout mafia consists of Tom Lizardo, Lou Moore, and Mark Elam, all ardent Republican Party apparatchiks.
Ersatz-David,
Don't even go there. Space: 1999 ruled! Well, the first season, anyway. And only if you totally shut off any understanding of physics.
Not to mention that the Eagle may be the best fictional spacecraft ever depicted. I still want one.
I suppose you will next insult UFO. Observe.
ProL,
Nuh-uh. *Any* of the ships in Spaceballs has that beat. Especially MegaMaid.
Neil
I know you revere Tracy Lords and all, but could we stick to the topic at hand
which is about how McCain is a RINO pretty much equal to Hillery.
But, is First Wave that show with the dude from Quantum Leap?
If so then you really are Dr T
Um, "Neil", can you explain general relativity to me? No reason I'm asking you, I just thought maybe you could tell me.
Neil
After you are done talking about how McCain is so RINO he is no different from Hillary, you can talk about
Who is the 12th Cylon.
If you do well on both those counts, you can go ahead and talk about Tracy Lords in First Wave, and we will pay attention.
Speaking of left wing shows, does anyone else get that the society of BattleStar Gallactica is a communist dictatorship?
I'd prefer Samantha Fox. But then again, I'm a cosmo.
Neil, would you say you picked the wrong week to stop amphetamines?
Dammit Ayn Randian, I forgot that one!
For a real story... Notice how Ron Paul refuses to endorse opponents of incumbent Republicans even when the incumbent is a war-lover like John McCain?
For instance a Ron Paul platformed Republican is running in Virginia's 10th district: Vern McKinley... against McCain-like 28 year incumbent Frank Wolf.
Ron Paul plays party politics too I guess.
Did anyone find out who McCain will endorse when he's out?
...and didn't Space 1999 have that woman who turned into a cat or something. Martin Laundau was good in it.
Oh hay hai Kneel!
Umm, WHO in Ron's circle asked him to get behind McCain? I think this is one of those unbacked assertions that constantly pop up in the media. I bet that even if you produce a person "in his circle" it'll be some nobody that Ron doesn't even listen to.
I'm going to check out the Constitution Party. Maybe it's their time as this article suggests:
http://miraclesdaily.blogspot.com/
Neil, you left your cowboy boots over at Bobby's house again. That's twice this week. and you promised. Now come here, it's time for your medication. You don't want to go back, do you? And please, don't play with Dad's computer, he's got important things on there
Hmmm ... there were a lot of cuts in the Singh endorsement. Perhaps it was because Paul kept screaming racist epithets at Singh that had to be cut. Perhaps you and Mr. Sanchez should investigate.
As an Australian, I must say that Americans are so dumb. Even the libertarian ones.
Why would anyone maintain two minor (LP & Constitution) parties with almost exactly the same policies when you know the system is so undemocratic towards 3rd parties in the first place?
If the LP & Const. party agreed to disagree on certain issues, they could leave those issues out of their platform and express no official opinion on it - you don't need a policy for everything under the sun.
Akston,
To answer your second question, yes. And Martin Landau is good in most things.
To answer your first question, Martin Landau.
Pablo Escobar,
It's because the two parties aren't as close as you might think. One big difference is that the Constitution Party is heavily religious and much more a conservative party than a libertarian one. Although common ground would make you think unification might be possible, we've learned from the major parties what happens when you have no ideals or principles at all, after diluting them repeatedly to allow in more voters. Besides, the third parties all taken together are still far too small.
(Theres a reason we haven't been attacked on our soil since 9/11. Its not because of luck. Its because George Bush has KEPT US SAFE by taking the fight to our enemies.)
I get so sick of hearing this idiotic reasoning why we have not been attacked here,is because George Bush is keeping us safe. They have not attacked us here is because why bother. We are on thier turf. They have already killed more Americans and wounded thousands more then those of 911. WE are spending billions to fight them thier, While they can keep fighting and killing American soldiers with what basically amounts to chump change compared to what we are spending. So thier just bleeding us dry. These terrorist are not stupid. Do you really think if they wanted to come over here we could stop them? We can't even stop the illegals from crossing our borders. All were doing is making it easy for them. They can drag this war out forever and win by bankrupting us.
Ron Paul's political skills are so low
that he, three times, defeated an incumbent to get into Congress? That's really easy? Damn, let's just throw all of the bastards out -- we'll use our 'so low' political skills.
Hmmn. Bob Barr, a former 4-term United States Congressman.
Chuck Baldwin, a former what? Has Baldwin ever been elected dog catcher?
Yes Ron, from your perspective both are equally good on the issues. But other things matter, as well, like credibility.
Barr as a minor-celebrity Congressman from the 1990s has it. Baldwin has no claim to fame outside the tiny Constitution Party.
And equaling the CP with the LP is absurd. The CP will have maybe 30 state ballot access, and the LP will have 48 or 49. Not even in the same ballpark.
Has anyone here ever heard of this Baldwin guy, before he secured the CP nomination?
I consider myself quite adept and up-to-date in politics, most especially Right-wing politics. I never heard of this guy before.
Seriously? What's his claim to fame? What's he known for?
I vaguely remember some Populist Radio Talk Show host from North Florida, back in the 1990s when I was living in Tallahassee, named Baldwin. He was syndicated throughout the south. It was a cross political show/consumer affairs deal. Is this the same guy?
"Taktix? | May 9, 2008, 2:09pm

Well, that didn't take long..."
Well, it did take about 30 posts before Godwin's Law was satisfied . . . ;^)
OH HAI DONDEROOOOOOOO!!
How were the Tijuana Hookers? Hear from Rudy much?
K THX BAI!
(Theres a reason we haven't been attacked on our soil since 9/11. Its not because of luck. Its because George Bush has KEPT US SAFE by taking the fight to our enemies.)
Why didn't that work for Britain or Spain?
Mr Dance,
Thats because the don't have George Bush. Simple no?
Thanks for posting the video with Amit Singh For Congress in Virginia, and Ron Paul.
Paul should keep running. His principles are those from which his true supporters won't sway.
Liberty and Freedom are not compromised objects, so he shouldn't back McCain; and if a former Ron Paul supporter who votes McCain because he DOESN'T THINK RON PAUL CAN WIN (whether or not he CAN win), it would be better for him to tie a millstone around his neck and jump into the ocean.
Because true lovers of liberty do not sacrifice it for security or "Republican" administrations--or Democratic for that matter. Nor do they throw it away at the command of War Times.
If You Want To Avoid Getting Ripped Off, You Better Read This
SCAM ALERT
WARNING?..If you use the yellow pages to find a business in Los Angeles (or any other city with an Israeli presence) for a wide variety of service-oriented businesses, you WILL encounter these scum sucking PARASITES that have taken over the phone books.
They buy up COLOUMNS of phone numbers in the directories that all get trunk-lined to the SAME PHONE NUMBER AND PERSON. You think you're getting estimates from different businesses and that must be the going rate??.it's likely NOT.
MOST of these vermin don't even HAVE businesses of their own??they take the calls and charge a fee to OTHER Israeli businesses for the referral?.so you pay TWO PEOPLE instead of one for the service.
Like any opportunistic PARASITE?Israelis have found the weak link in the system and exploited it to the point that you now have to MAKE A REAL EFFORT TO AVOID THEM.
Think I'm kidding?
Try calling a tow truck in Los Angeles for a 3-block tow out of the Yellow Pages. Ask the operator to give you any three numbers. The same rude arrogant voice will answer every number you call, and quote you $120 for a tow that a private company will charge you $40 for. It's the same for plumbers, home remodelers, locksmiths, heating and air technicians, electricians, on and on and on, and they are NOT above threatening you if you refuse to pay their exhorbitant price. (hint: call a wrecking yard for a referral tow, cheapest price you'll find)
These people truly think Americans are inferior to them, and that it's their divine birthright to rip us off with any dirty deal or scam they can come up with. People who have experience with these phone book scammers know exactly what I'm talking about.
ANOTHER favorite tactic of theirs in the roofing, construction and remodeling fields is to take your information and then send out a succession of representatives, from SUPPOSEDLY different companies. The first company gives a really high bid, to see if you will bite. The SECOND company gives a moderate bid, but will deliver the cheapest goods available, like particle board cabinets etc.
If you take the lowball bid from one of these companies?.you might not get anything done at all. The next phase of these shell-company rip-off artists is to take people's deposits/down payments or the first few job payments and never show up again. They just close the shell company names that get "too hot" (have too many pending litigations or liens/judgements) and simply start a new one?..with of course, the same vile and crooked motive.
THE ONLY SURE WAY to avoid these CROOKS anymore is to get a referral from a friend of someone trustworthy they've used before, because the phone book is pretty much TOAST.
