Paul Fan Video v. Clinton Fan Video: Tattoos, Handcuffs, Defiance Beat Hair Nets, Rubber Gloves, Spunkiness

Keith Halderman unfavorably compares that cringe-inducing Laverne and Shirley ode to Hillary Clinton with Aimee Allen's catchy Ron Paul song (below). While I have my doubts about rhyming grave with state, and I'm not sure why the IRS is putting duct tape over Allen's mouth (maybe because she tried to sell books by Irwin Schiff?), her effort is undeniably superior: original, pointed, and sexy, as opposed to an embarrassing retread of a song that was bad enough to begin with. But inasmuch as Allen is a professional songwriter and performer, while the Hillary fan who thinks the senator has what it takes to make all our dreams come true is (I'm assuming) not, the comparison is not exactly fair. There's a more telling contrast between the war and civil liberties themes of Allen's video and the stop-the-invading-landscapers message of campaign commercials like this one.

Update: The Aimee Allen video seems to have been removed from YouTube, although it's still available here. You can find the audio of her song on YouTube, illustrated by various still images (here and here, for example), but it's not quite the same.

Update to the update: The video is back up on YouTube. The issue seems to have been the implied connection to the Paul campaign. It is now labeled "Aimee Allen: *Unofficial* Ron Paul Revolution Video."

Perhaps the IRS duct tape thing refers to the fact that if you tell someone that your research reveals that the 16th Amendment was never properly ratified, and they believe you and don't pay their taxes, you can be arrested for conspiracy.

Personally, I think those 16th Amendment types are all wet - but the tax code is apparently one area of the law where voicing the wrong opinion on a historical event makes you a criminal. Sort of our own little version of Europe's Holocaust Denial laws.

I'm sure it will be a very special article. Of course, I don't recall Dr. Paul putting his heart or even much verbage into the issue and explaining why it's important. Nor do I recall him pointing out except in a few minor cases how his opponents were wrong on the issue. Nor do I recall any of his supporters even once trying to directly hold his opponents accountable on the issue. Meanwhile, the MSM constantly lies about the issue and allowed RP's opponents to lie.

So, yeah, I guess if you just completely ignore the context the no doubt stock article might be right.

And no, I don't really see any difference from writing a book saying the 16th Amendment was never ratified and you shouldn't have to pay income taxes and holding a seminar to say the same thing. I think in both cases you're factually wrong, but not engaged in a conspiracy.

Did Paul accept the LP's offer or was that supposed to say "libertarian-leaning Republican candidate"? Plus, I thought Dondero said Giuliani Thompson Romney someone other than Paul was the "most viable libertarian candidate". For real though, Paul's detractors will probably point to his immigration pandering as what they like most about him.

I could be wrong but I think that was Fluffy's point. If you let the actions and statements of "supposed libertarians" discourage you, then you will be eternally discouraged. How do you feel when Bill Maher and Neal Boortz describe themselves as "libertarians" to national audiences? I talk to people on the regular that think libertarians are pro-Iraq war because of Boortz but, even though I can't guarantee it will never happen, I've yet to talk to someone that believes libertarians are anti-immigrant because of Paul.
