Yeah, that's worth a giggle. But the tubes are full of this stuff. What singled this one out for special attention?
The bit at the end, where he goes "In'nt America Neat?"
At least, that's what made it for me.
In the still he looks sorta like Fred Willard. That's enough to grab my attention.
FRED WILLARD IS THE FUNNIEST MAN ALIVE AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHY.
I clicked because I thought it was Fred Willard. It was funny anyway.
This isn't real? It would be hugely successful here in the deep south. Southern Baptists would eat this up!
Wha' Happened?
How a sitcom also-ran became a comic legend
Don't think I didn't notice that snide "Endorsed by the NRA" line at the end. Since when does Reason mock protectors of the Second Amendment? Is that required now to get into Cosmo-polis?
I worry that my son might not understand what I've tried to be. And if I were to be killed, Willard, I would want someone to go to my home and tell my son everything. Everything I did, everything you saw, because there's nothing that I detest more than the stench of lies. And if you understand me Willard, you will do this for me.
DAMMIT. REASON TOLD ME THAT THEY DIDN'T THINK The It Girl WOULD NOTICE THAT SNIDE "ENDORSED BY THE NRA" AT THE END.
OH WELL, REASON ALSO THOUGHT THAT The It Girl WOULD NOTICE THAT REASON DID NOT PRODUCE THE VIDEO.
IT TURNS OUT THAT The It Girl IS EVEN DUMBER THAN ANYONE THOUGHT. IN A WONDERFUL, WONDERFULLY UNCEASINGLY WONDROUS WORLD ONE NEVER CEASES LEARNING SOMETHING NEW EVERY DAY.
AIN'T LIFE GRAND?
WOTTA COUNTRY!
FRED WILLARD IS THE FUNNIEST MAN ALIVE AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHY.
Generally agree. THat scene where he is talking about the 1960 Pittsburgh Pirates and Catherine O'Hara is hung over and says nothing is one of the funniest things ever.
He was kind of eh in the Home For Purim movie though (only the ventriloquist lady was funny in that).
Thanks, Urk. I don't know who's writing your new material but it's like you can't even be bothered putting any effort into it. It's nice that you finally figured out that lower case works once in a while.
It's pretty obvious that the video is beyond the production capabilities of Reason. With tens of millions of dollars at their disposal the Ron Paul campaign couldn't even put together something that slick.
After everyone is finished snickering at the hayseeds they should remember that the kind of people who made this video think YOU* are part of the problem, too. This is what Reason wants to endorse for the sake of a sophomoric giggle?
*I hope using all caps isn't some kind of trademark violation of your played-out shtick.
PS Fred Willard is wonderful
HELP ME OUT, The It Girl. WHAT ARE YOU A PARODY OF?
Teh.
I think it's F-in hysterical. And get real, the NRA is as much about salivating over firepower and creating controversy than they are about protecting the 2nd amendment.
er, that should read AS they are...
You're right about the NRA, Pottsy, but I don't think enemies of gun rights make those subtle distinctions.
oh come on, it was funny and that's why Reason put it up. So they threw in a shot at the NRA. Who fucking cares?
When reason writes an article bashing the 2nd amendment, then you can complain. Until then, shut the fuck up.
Wither the taints of the non-believers!
He's actually comedian Paul Gilmartin. His other videos are funny too. You can see some of his standup routine, which requires him to be very quick on his feet as he takes questions from audience members.
Really nice. I watched it twice. Question for the thin-skinned gun fetishists: Are you trying to say that the NRA wouldn't wholeheartedly support a candidate like this?
Until then, shut the fuck up.
I see H&R has no respect for the 2nd and 1st today.
Actually, I think Pinette was exercising his First Amendment rights.
What singled this out for Reason editors was that this guy was spoofing a Republican.
Try for a minute to imagine Reason every doing such a spoof of a Democrat congressional candidate. You can't. Completely politically incorrect for the cynics at Reason to throw such vitriol at a Dem. But Republicans, are ALWAYS fair game.
How typical that the magazine that calls itself "Reason" would totally ignore Martin's position on protecting the soverignty of our golf courses.
On the off-chance that anyone here is really interested in learning anything, click on World Net Daily or talk to the tiny little men in my salt shaker.
I believe you should always drive your truck down the center of 2 lane bridges.
I see H&R has no respect for the 2nd and 1st today
You're grasp of the meaning of the Bill of Rights is as feeble as your sense of humor, "It Girl."
Has it occurred that...
1. posting that video,
2. allowing you unfettered posting of display of your ignorance and,
3. allowing others to freely ridicule you
are all wonderful and glorious expressions of the First Amendment?
That's why this board is such a treasure.
As regards mocking supportors of the Second Amendment, "It Girl", any organization that throws it's endorsement behind Rick Santorum (As the NRA did) deserves complete, merciless ridicule from any and all sources.
The funny part no one mentioned is that he's endorsed by the NRA *and* the PGA
it's a piss take, not politics
