H20... It just sounds dangerous.
Dihydrogen Monoxide Kills Again
Dihydrogen Monoxide is used by industry in the manufacturing process. This dangerous chemical should be banned, but the politicians are all in the pocket of transnational corporations. Won't somebody PLEASE think of the children!?
H20... It just sounds dangerous.
When it was AuH2O everybody *really* thought it was dangerous. Thought it might nuke the world into oblivion.
DHMO is the major component of acid rain.
That's chilling, robc. Absolutely chilling. It's even got 50% of the letters in the phrase "acid rain".
DHMO is the major component of acid rain.
As an ex-sailor, I can testify that it is the number one cause of mariner deaths. I exceeds sharks, sea snakes, jellyfish, and manta rays combined.
Where the hell is today's brickbat? I hate it when they miss a day!
It exceeds ...
Sheesh!
Although found in 100% of corpses at autopsy, this mysterious substance's relation to death has been kept hidden by the gubermint
DHMO is also highly addictive. Every person who has ever ingested DHMO is bound to experience severe withdrawal symptoms including delusions, muscle cramps, painful urination, and even death if they stop ingesting it for even a few days.
It's in our food! Giant agricorps spray DHMO onto crops to increase yields! Plants treated with DHMO undergo rapid growth. DHMO is transported from the roots directly into friuts and vegetables, causing them to swell and increasing their shipping weight.
Even worse, intelligence sources believe terrorists may be storing large quantities of DHMO.
Fine. Yuck it up. Someone died!
It is good that the liked article includes a photo of a DHMO dispensing unit and receptacle, so that parents can keep an eye out for H2O paraphernalia. I certainly don't want MY kids to have access to this dangerous chemical.
Weren't there some morning zoo shock jocks that got in trouble a few months ago for convincing a woman to drink so much water she died?
Yuck! Yuck! Yuck!
"Water Intoxication".
Hmm.
"Sir, your breathalyzer shows a Blood DHMO content of .92. I'll have to ask you for your keys."
You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make hime drink, fatties.
What I want to know is how much water he drank to die from it. Knowing that the dose makes the poison is pretty useless unless you know what that dose is.
DHMO is the major component of acid rain.
Its also the major greenhouse gas.
It is good that the liked article
R.C.'z Law strikes again!

It's usually several gallons in less than an hour. Every now and then some idiot dies from this as part of a frat initiation.
From the article: Hyponatremia is when there is so much water in the body that it dilutes vital minerals such as sodium down to dangerous levels.
Should read: Hyponatremia is when there is so much water in the body that it dilutes the level of the vital mineral sodium down to dangerous levels.
HypoNAtremia is, by definition, low sodium concentration.

The radio contest was called "Hold Your Wee For a Wii." The woman who died was a mom who was hoping to win a Wii system for her kids. She lost the contest, and a few hours later, her life. Very sad story.
Oddly enough, I heard last month that a Kansas radio station was planning to hold an identical event. Jokes about what's wrong with Kansas, and it being years behind the rest of the country may commence now.
Jacob, quit shilling for Big Water.

CSI episode coming in 5 - 4 - 3 -
When I was healthy, and running half-marathons, hyponatremia was regularly featured in Running World articles.
They advocated the use of sports drinks (that contain small amounts of sodium) instead of DHMO while running distance. Too bad this wasn't common info among idiot DJs.

FTA:
Recording a verdict of accidental death, coroner Donald Coverdale said: "This is indeed an unusual case and, I dare say that the consumption of excessive amounts of water may well have gone unnoticed by those around Mr McNamara, certainly less noticed than if he had been consuming large amounts of alcohol.
The obvious lesson? Don't drink DHMO, drink alcohol, so the people around you knwo when you've had too much.

Thanks PantsFan! That's a winner.
Know when to say when! When you want to drink, drink responsibly. Drink Alcohol.
Did you know that Alcohol is a natural diuretic, which has been shown in studies to reduce DHMO content in your blood? Alcohol naturally protects the body against dangerous conditions such as hyponatremia and sobriety.

Am reminded of W.C.Fields' famous comment when offered water for his whiskey. To paraphrase: "Water?" he drawled incredulously, "Certainly not! Fish f*** in it!"
It's not just drinking it ~ People inhale DMHO sometimes, which is leads to more fatalities than the ingestion of it. this stuff is very dangerous, we MUST get it off the streets!
DHMO vapor, a major greenhouse gas, has been pumped into the air in ever increasing quantities since the very beginning of the industrial revolution.
And this corrosive chemical, in liquid form, is used as a coolant in nuclear reactors, pumped right through the center of the radioactive core!
