Breaking: Irrelevant Famous Daughter Endorsement News
Stop the presses! Dick Cheney's daughter Liz, a former State Department employee, has thrown her massive influence behind…Mitt Romney. Apparently because Fred Thompson opted out of the race in order to take fuller advantage of the breakfast specials at Waffle House:
After Sen. Fred Thompson of Tennessee decided to drop out of the presidential election race last week, Liz Cheney wondered about the next candidate she could support.
On Sunday, a statement released by Mitt Romney's campaign, indicated that Vice President Dick Cheney's daughter has opted to support Romney's campaign as a senior foreign policy adviser.
"I am proud to support Gov. Romney. Throughout this campaign, he has distinguished himself as a leader who can guide our country with a clear vision for overcoming the threats we face today," Cheney said in the statement, according to Fox News.
The real question: Where is Roger Clinton, Pyongyang's answer to Wayne Newton and the Eli Manning of presidential siblings, throwing his support?

Wow, that article on Eli Manning was incredibly dickish.
It won't be so funny when we end up with Jeb in 2012...
This may reveal some of my ignorance, but who is that in the picture and what is on his/her head?
Reinmoose - it's Roger Clinton, looking suspiciously similar to original MTV vj Mark Goodman (center).
Irony alert. You post an article that you describe as not worth noting.
That's why I depend on Hit and Run for all my not-note-worthy-news.

Jeb vs Hilary - kind of like Godzilla vs King Kong???
Well, now I'm even more against Romney.
Dick Cheney's daughter has opted to support Romney's campaign as a senior foreign policy adviser.
Golly- I wonder if she'll advise him to "stay the course?"
Yep, that's irrelevant. More important will be who Mary Cheney backs.
I never knew Liz Cheney was so ugly.
More important will be who Mary Cheney backs.
It was stuff like this that kicked off that porn site sub-thread the South Carolina primary post.
Sure, Peyton may have the better arm and football smarts, but PETYON MANNING CAN'T WIN THE BIG GAME.
Oh, yeah. It's back.
Also, Eli doesn't publicly go ZOMG ROID RAGE when people smack-talk him, so he's clearly half a man.
joe, aren't you required by law to be a Patriots fan? Aren't all Massholes required by law to be Patriots fans?
And I'm pretty sure Eli doesn't constantly lick his fingers like he has the endless peanut butter residue and is pretty sure it will all be gone any time now.
Episiarch, I was sitting on the metal benches of Schaefer Stadium back when Steve Grogan still had knees.
Actual tranascript:
joe's uncle: "Gene, how many yards did Tony Collins get on that play?"
joe's dad: "I don't know, but John Hannah knocked down three guys!"
I said very clearly earlier in the season that "Eli can't cut it as an NFL starter. He can't handle pressure and he has the huddle presence of Eeyore."
I think I owe him an apology. He's played good post season ball relatively mistake free in the face of some pressure. If he beats the Pats, which he won't, but if he does, I might just buy his Fat Head.
I might just buy his Fat Head.
Is that some kind of prison lingo?
Liz Cheney worked at the State Department as an adviser on Middle East affairs.
I guess that's what you get when you cross nepotism with an echo chamber.
I wonder if she'll advise him to "stay the course?".
At the very least she'll advise him to "strike a balance."
For Change.

Did anybody else read the title and think it was about this?
Yes I thought of that one too.

I think it's high time we shed this Medieval notion that bloodline has any relevance to the weight of someone's opinion...
Or fitness for office. Kin limits!
Like it or not, Carolyn Kennedy's opinion means a lot more than Mary Cheney's opinion, largely as a consequence of their fathers' relative level of respect among the public.
The only reason Kennedy is more respected than Cheney is because Kennedy got assassinated. Their foreign policy views are actually shockingly similar.
sage - In case you weren't joking...
Like it or not, Carolyn Kennedy's opinion means a lot more than Mary Cheney's opinion, largely as a consequence of their fathers' relative level of respect among the public.
Agreed. I'm kinda supoprting Obama now, and I welcomed Caroline Kennedy's endorsement. That is only because I realize that a lot of voters are stupid enough to give it credence.
"I think it's high time we shed this Medieval notion that bloodline has any relevance to the weight of someone's opinion..."
Tell that to the liberal Democrats.
They're the ones who think the Kennedy's are royalty.
The ONLY one, Cesar?
Really?
You look at Dick Cheney and John F. Kennedy, and you can only think of one difference?
Not seeing differences that are obvious to the rest of the world seems to play an important role in libertarians' political thought.
Joe, if Kennedy hadn't been shot he'd be remembered as the President that got us stuck in the Vietnam. Since he got assasinated before it got bad, he gets a pass while Lyndon Johnson gets all the blame.
Cheney will be remembered as one of the guys that got us stuck in Iraq because of the same kind of foreign policy view.
Thats the point I was trying to make.
Uh oh, Cesar gored a sacred cow.
"Historically, syphilis is right up there with Germans. It wiped out the Romanovs, it decimated our fleet at Pearl Harbor, and of course, Fidel Castro impersonated Marilyn Monroe and gave President Kennedy a case of syphilis so severe that eventually it blew the back of his head off."
Funny how the action that Kennedy made clear he was gong to do - push through the Civil Rights Act - gets written out of your alter-history, while the one that the staff directly involved can't agree over - drawing down our presence in Vietnam - is assumed with such certainty.
And, of course, NO ONE would remember the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Which is history going to remember more, joe? Bush's performance on 9/11 or Iraq and Katrina?
If Bush or Cheney had been assasinated by a Muslim terrorist in say, 2002 or 2003 they would be martyrs in the War on Terra, not a failed administration. Just like Kennedy is some kind of liberal martyr now even though his administration was headed towards disaster.
As for the Civil Rights Act, that wouldn't have been passed without his assassination either unfortunatley. It was stuck in Congress until Johnson was able to use symapthy from the assassination to push it through.
Bay of Pigs should be in there, too. An unassassinted Kennedy legacy would be interesting, with wild swings.
Just heard on the radio that Teddy K has also endorsed Obama.
JFK was headed toward possible impeachment. Sometimes getting your head blown off is a good career move. Read "The Dark Side Of Camelot" by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour M. Hersh for everything you didn't know about one of America's sleaziest presidents.
Shhhh, don't tell Dondero this is irrelevant.
Cesar,
Half of Kennedy's staff says he was ready to draw down from Vietnam. Would have of Bush's staff being saying that if he'd bee shot in 2003?
Doubtful.
joe, considering half of Bush's staff is Cheney and the other half, Rove, I'd say no.
But why would JFK have to listen to his staff (no Marilyn jokes, please)? Wouldn't he inherently know what the right thing was, being God and all that good stuff?
But you forger, Nick: his top advisor was co-diety Bobby.
BTW, maybe if Johnson had Kennedy's self-assurance, he also would have had his confidence to conclude that the generals didn't know what they were talking about.
Just to make sure I'm clear on this:
If I disagree with a charge made about Hillary Clinton, it means I kissey-kissey, sittin'-in-a-tree luv her; while if I disagree with a charge made about Kennedy, it meand I worship him like a god.
Have I got that right? I need to know which silly-assed narrative i should expect to receive instead of rebuttals.
Come on joe, I basically with you on this, but LBJ lacked 'self-assurance'? esp when compared to JFK? Really?
Kolohe,
In the particular area I mentioned - the willingness to stand up to the generals.
Kennedy's experience during the Bay of Pigs (it'll be a walkover! No air support necessary!) and the missile crisis (Mr. President, starting a pre-emptive bombing campaign right now is your only option) led him to doubt the assurances he received from them about Vietnam, where Johnson kept believing them until we were in up to our waist.
I thought that was a picture of the Hasselhoff when I first saw it. Nice mullet there, Roger. The Clintons seem to have done a good job of silencing him during the current campaign, eh?
What I really want to know is, who is Neil Bush endorsing?
joe, I only criticize you in general for your defense of all of them on a daily basis, or how you ignore the ills they've committed and turn them around on whomever brought them up as being against women, blacks, poor people, unions, etc.
I don't understand why you can't just say, "they have many faults, as we all do, but I agree with many of their policies?" or just don't say anything until someone attacks the policy position. Defending the people themselves doesn't go very far when they have all done worse things than the average person, sometimes because of their position of power and sometimes because they are low-life scumbags.
Liz Cheney? Hunh?
She is just a Dick with hair. God help Romney if she is as incompetent as her father.
I can say that when it's relevant, Nick, but it's usually well-trod territory.
You think I'm going to show up on threads and write "Yeah, that's bad" as the 50th comment just to look better in your eyes? Um, pass.
As for "defending the person," if what I'm saying is true, you should respect it. The fact that something I write is favorable to a Democrat shouldn't lead you to conclude it's false - that's just blind partisanship.
