Hey, a Bok cartoon that I found comprehensible! Alright!

  2. tepid   17 years ago

    Yes, this one works.

  3. Reinmoose   17 years ago

    Right, I agree.

    It’s also sadly depressing

  4. Toastography   17 years ago

I don’t know what it is, but I’m drawn to the way the C and the O are spooning there in the cartoon’s text. And the text itself is funny, too.

Does anyone have a link to information about the government being the second largest employer in the country?

  6. Graphite   17 years ago

    Ugh. We are facking doomed.

Does anyone have a link to information about the government being the second largest employer in the country?

By the BLS health care is the largest employer with 14 million jobs.

According to the census pdf the federal govt has a little under 14 million employees. (civilian employees, does not appear to include military or anyone in DHS)

However according to this there are roughly 20-21 million total employees at all levels of government.

Nonetheless, this was much better than the past few weeks of cartoons.

  8. Kolohe   17 years ago

Whoops, that should be approx 2.5 million federal civilian employees. I looked at the wrong column

  9. Annoying Pedantic   17 years ago

I had to look twice because the cartoon has it spelled county…NOT country.

Is it a typo or did he really mean local government?

    A flying and gentle sparrow.

    When the last
    lights of a sunrise
    disappear behind
    a melody I hear
    the song of
    a beautiful sparrow,
    the sound of a
    rank and the rising
    beginning now
    reflecting the pain.

    Francesco Sinibaldi
