I just care about that foxy Ms. Dowd!

  2. Nobody   18 years ago

    Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

Now I won't have to pay to read Bob Herbert!

  3. Lamar   18 years ago

I guess I can put Mr. Silly-stache back on my list of humorous reads...and the unintended benefit is that I'll start to 'get' Tom Tommorrow's This Modern World again.

Proving once again that it is one thing to have an opinion and quite another to have people willing to pay you to read it...arbiters of opinion page quality standards may disagree, but the free opinions shared here are much more interesting than flat world gas bags and dowdy old spinsters at the world's most self important newspaper.

There is a singular laugh appropriate for this occasion, the "ha ha" of one Nelson Muntz.

This is clearly a victory for the Union of Left Leaning Bloggers of the World.

That is a great thing for NY Times readers who actually live near poverty level....a rare breed we are, but still want to remain well informed, even if not well paid.

I tried last month to register as a 'Times Select' subscriber, and couldn't do it because I have no credit card...I offered to mail a check, but they brilliantly had no procedure to accommodate people like me.

I tried to explain to the NYT sales rep that I defaulted on all my credit cards ( & a lot of child support too) after my divorce...the guy was unmoved, or at least unable to help.

If this is true, then it's good news

Sob...I felt so classy paying for David Brooks...

  9. Lamar   18 years ago

Oh, David T, you son of a rascal....he he he.

  10. S.A. Miller   18 years ago

I always found it amusing that the Wall Street Journal charged for it's news reporting and gave away its oinions for free while the New York Times gave away its news but charged for its opinions.

I guess not that many people found the NYT's opinions worth paying for...
