For all the complaining we used to do here, kudos should go out for the much improved server squirrels.
Congrats
I think the Reason staff juices up the sever squirrels with "performance enhancing drugs."
Yeah, SGH (squirrel growth hormone).

I think these record-setting visits all began with highnumber's sub-blog on the site. Give credit where it's due!
I've got instant respect for anyone bearing the Swearingen name.
Russ 2K is obviously a shill for Big Server Squirrel.

WAY TO GO PIG SHIRT GUY!
If you missed the last Reasonoid gathering, the server dood was wearing a really cool pig shirt.
Speaking of blogging within comment threads, look at one of Achenbach's. These cheery people are wishing each other good-night and good-morning, posting about birds in their back yard, medical tests, you name it.

Will Ron Bailey and Brian Doherty be there?
I was going to bring some special reading material for Radley Balko, but he really does know the difference between a Tank and an APC.
Hidey Ho, Hit&Runners...long time, no postee.
NICK, I presume you're the receipient of Events@reason.com emails?
I just fired you a note regarding your consideration for Reason hosting a similar Happy Hour during week of Jun 11-14 when I will be in town on several projects.
I can likely recruit attendance from some folks at The Marijuana Policy Project (where I'll be doing some service work) and Howard Wooldridge of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (lives in Fredricksburg).
And of course I can provide good handouts for our work at DrugSense and MAP.
Add Balko in and we could do a nice anti Drug War theme.
PLUS (not mentioned in my email) I could bring along Fabulous Door Prizes of LEAP Tshirts (Cops Say Legalize Drugs - Ask Me Why) and I may even have a couple of those shirts left from Students For Sensible Drug Policy which feature cartoon caricature of GW Bush tooting a giant line of cocaine above the word HYPROCRITE.
Wow! 2.4 million visits.
Uh, how many hits is that if you deduct trolls like Dan T. and inane commenters like myself?
What is Jimmy Wales wearing on the cover?
NoStar,
I wonder how far that 2.4 million drops if you remove all the regular commenters' comments.
An AP story by Daniel Lowering in the Bloomington IL Pantagraph and other papers described how Megabus.com is offering extremely cheap bus fares and able to expand while doing it.
Someone at Reason needs to explain how Megabus.com can do this with no subsidy, and smaller operations like Peoria Coach Charter can do it while AMTRAK and other government controlled mass transit is constantly asking for more subsidy.
Currently in Illinois the RTA - Regional Transit Agency is using large amounts of money to recruit people to demand more subsidy for its mismanaged atrocity. This is a subsidy that nobody wants for a service that nobody is asking for. The subsidy would come out of pockets of taxpayers who are facing the biggest tax hike in history at both the state and federal level.

I understand Ron Bailey has stock in the manufacturer.

So he is shelling for big squirrel?
As I just started reading Reason on line, and am juicing up the traffic numbers, shouldn't I get a free drink (32 oz pink champagnie) or something?
In other news: DC gun permit law is still unconstitutional, but concealed carry is still illegal (unless you are a Democrat).
Illegal immigrants foiled in terrorism plot against Ft. Dix.
Is it just me or does the dude on the cover with the neru collar look like someone who would approach you in an airport and try to get you to join a cult? There is something decidedly no quite right about that photo.
It ain't just you, John.
It ain't just you, John.
I need to hire him as my Carbon and Chastity credit sales guy quick!
Where's the NYC happy hour?
So he is shelling for big squirrel?
I think he's shelling for Enormous Nuts.
Nick, I will be presenting you, Radley and David with a major award early in the evening (unless you want a crowd). Please have David teach one of your other underlings how to use his camera. If they can use it and write, all the better, but if not have another of your underlings record the moment on a pad or other device.
Perhaps a couple of your Overlords will do, but they don't seem to show up all that early.
It is a nice award. Trust me.
Since several awardees will be away I shall be presenting the Major Award on a date when we are all in the same place at the same time. Perhaps when I return from (if I ever go to) "the Orient".
