Getting Mouthy

Donna Appleyard watched for almost a year as a group of youths shouted and swore and people in her neighborhood, trespassed and trampled down their gardens. She says she called the police several times, but they never showed up. But police did respond after one of the gang, a 13-year-old girl, complained that Appleyard told her to "fuck off." They issued her a fine of 80 pounds, but she refused to pay it. So a court raised the fine to 120 pounds, which she must pay or go to jail. Neighbors have offered to pay half the fine.
