That's the question Wes Wagner, an sledge-hammer-wielding Libertarian running to represent Oregon House District 39, is asking in a pretty funny campaign ad.

    Heh, heh...cock.

I think the image would be more effective if his sledgehammer wasn't brand new and unused. It makes him look poserish or something.

  2. Wes Wagner   19 years ago

It is only slightly used... but it is going to get more use as the campaign continues. Trust us >:) - there will be a few notches carved in the handle before we are done.

  3. Clean Hands   19 years ago

Well, the state house is still standing at this point... once he's through, I'm guessing that it'll be pretty well-used looking.

    Mmmmmm... brains.

  4. the other Mark   19 years ago

Heh...I didn't mean to come across as a dick, Wes. Keep us the good work.

  5. the other Mark   19 years ago

As far as weaponish implements go, I'm partial to splitting mauls. Smash! Smash! Split! Split! Spurt! Spurt!

  6. Gary   19 years ago

Last sentence before the obligatory "I approve this message" spiel:

"Come to standingupforfreedom.org to see this message uncut!"

    Oh man, that was funny.

  7. Andrew Ian Dodge   19 years ago

Yeah that has to be one of the funnier commercial adverts I have seen in a while. Lets hope PETA doesn't get upset about the cock-fighting mention.

  8. mediageek   19 years ago

Nice ad, Wes. Good luck in the race.

For anyone who feels like generating some stomach-churning bile, Click this link for a campaign ad from Vernon Robinson

Personally, it's crap like that which has driven me to vote libertarian.

  9. Clean Hands   19 years ago

Why am I not surprised by the symbolism of the people looking backwards at the end of that ad? Disgusting. Going to go watch Wes' ad again, to get the filthy taste out of my mouth.

"What If We Chose Our Legislators By Cockfighting?"

I was under the impression we did.

  11. Clean Hands   19 years ago

Well, the size of a candidate's warchest doesn't really correspond to the size of their cock... I mean, look at Hillary.

Okay, well, maybe a bad example there....

  12. Mo   19 years ago

Great job Wes. I laughed my ass off. Is House District 39 in Portland? I have a couple friends there that I'm forwarding this to.

  13. Eric the .5b   19 years ago

Man, I hope Vernon Robinson's campaign failed to clear all the trademarks and copyrights it used...

  14. Clean Hands   19 years ago

Just outside of Portland, according to this map.

  15. Clean Hands   19 years ago

Okay, I'll come clean -- the big cock in the ad is mine.

    No, really. 🙂

  16. Wes Wagner   19 years ago

Lar's Hedbor is very happy to now have a "World-famous Cock" - he plans to use that line in bars to pickup "chicks".

"What If We Chose Our Legislators By Cockfighting?"

I definitely think our next Commander-In-Chief should be chosen in a snoodle-off...

  18. Wes Wagner   19 years ago

Fixed the firefox issue... it now works if you have the latest version of flash player.

  19. Paul   19 years ago

I can not get this to work in Opera or Explorer. Perhaps rendering to a down-rev version of flash might widen the audience. I am not going to install any new software on my machine when 99.9% of the flash animations work just fine.

HA! Last year we had a gov. official suggest it should be allowed if they wore gloves..no kidding.
