Friday Superfun Link
Beats there a man with heart so cold he can't get a good chuckle from the rampant absurdities of Mort Weisinger-era (and beyond) covers of Superman family comics? Here is a wonderful gallery of Kryptonian Krackups, with a special emphasis on Superman behaving, let us say, not so heroically toward his friends and loved ones. It goes on for many, many pages and is well worth the clickthroughs.

This is ingenious--it should be a TV show.
...but you can't use Superman like that, can you?
Maybe as a running gag on MAD TV?
I suspect they wouldn't let you put the "Slap a Jap" War Bond drive cover on MAD TV--but maybe?
Did you ever see the lost Wizard of Oz footage on MAD?
...and look what the Simpsons get away with doin' to Willie and Apu!
The Superdickery site has some great ones, too. Awesome.
Great site! Thanks for the link. I'm still clicking through and laughing out loud. Those covers are so cheesy. Almost makes one grateful for the 'dark and tormented' covers of the late '80's and the '90's. Almost. I hate Todd McFarlane.
Which is more immature? Laughing uncontrollably at this, or laughing uncontrollably at this?
Full disclosure: I did both.
"Batman's Greatest Boner"
Thanks, man - I laughed until I cried!
