Is this open to U.S. students exclusively, or can those of us to the North apply as well?
Housing with whom??
Section 8, where else?
Sam,
They become Tim Cavanaugh's sex toys for the duration of their visit. 🙂

Hey, that's a rational economic decision.
Kudos to Reason for paying the intern something.
And the gig is in LA! And you know what foreigners say about LA? "It's like no where else in America, yet it could be no where else but America" And what charms it has-Griffith observatory, the Getty Museum, Santa Monica, Pinks Hot Dogs, that Sci-fi pizza place on Fairfax. Is it still there? What's the name? Help me out, you Angelinos.
Oh my god. A paid internship for a magazine I like? *heart attack*
Do you have unpaid internships, as well? I would work for free if someone would agree to let me sleep on their couch for a couple months. 🙂
Where else have interns gone on to work? Idaho militia blogsites?
...And of course there's Book Soup, and that chess park on the beach in Santa Monica which also sports many groovy British pubs, LA's diverse ethnic food, Retro New Wave clubs, the interesting lectures that the Skeptic folks put on at the Cal Tech campus in Pasedina, the La Brea Tar Pits...many more. (I just put on "Walking in LA" by Missing Persons, who were from LA.)

That's Pasadena. Sorry
Emily,
The Reason guys will have an arrangement for you in the "casting couch" tradition of the area. Joke! Only a joke.
I thought that you only had to sleep your way into showbusiness, not journalism. God, the market's getting competitive.
Though, I do have a pair of assets that I hear are rather rare in the sausagefest libertarian community. 🙂
I can't believe you put this up for comment.
The internship is open to Canadians, Mexicans, and non-North Americans, too.
Rick--The sci-fi pizza place, called Nova Express, is still there on Fairfax, a couple blocks north of Beverly. (Roughly across the street from Canter's, my fave 24-hour deli in LA.) It's owned and run by an old chum of mine, and I highly recommend it. The banana espresso milkshakes are sublime. I only wish it were better lit so I could do reading and writing work there more often.
Do you have higher-paid internships for recent college graduates? i.e., internships for recent graduates who want a new full-time job? Permanently?
Brian,
Thank you. Yeah, Nova Express, named after the William S. Burroughs novel. I remember that place was great-wonderful pesto pizza and a decor like a sci-fi movie set. I've been to Canter's as well. I knew that it was also on Fairfax but I spaced that it was just across the street from Nova Express. Ok, now I have yet another reason to visit LA. Here's the Nova Express web site:
