Bush Pulls Ahead
Old news by now, I suppose, but Bush got off to an early lead in Dixville Notch, New Hampshire. (Yes, enormous numbers of early votes and absentee ballots had already been cast, making this vote-at-midnight town's results even less important than they've been since Libertarian Andre Marrou pulled 17 percent there in '92.)

Having been to Dixville Notch several times (way up in the White Mountains), I'd have to say that if this hamlet full of farmers and good ol' boys voted that close for Kerry, the southern precincts around Nashua will blow open for him.
But then, it's still too early to call.
I just want to bring up the fact that we can all pick on Thoreau today because he's tied up being an election judge!!
Hanah Metchis Volokh is an election inspector in Los Angeles County.
Hart's Location, the other midnight voting town in NH, split evenly between Kerry and Bush, with one vote for Nader!
I heard that thoreau, Rick Santorum, and George Soros were seen going to a gay BDSM bar recently. I'm not saying that it's true - we just don't know where thoreau goes for his entertainment, or who he hangs out with.
