Balls
The Canadian government overpaid tens of thousands of dollars for golf balls and other items used to promote Canadian unity, according to a government investigation. The person who ran the promotional program says she can't remember where all the items went, but the 1,200 golf balls were apparently sent to then–Prime Minister Jean Chretien. The investigation also found that about $100 million of sponsorship funds have gone to firms that back the Liberal Party, with no proof they provide quality service.
