Hayekian Blog Evolution
Fitting for a forum designed to discuss and appreciate the work and thought of F.A. Hayek, the always-interesting Hayek-L listserv has institutionally evolved into a Hayek blog. Still under the tutelage of Hayek scholar Greg Ransom, even in its new forum it continues to be the place to keep up with the latest in Hayek scholarship and scholarship and conversation influenced by Hayekian ideas. It also has a great blogroll guiding you to other economics and philosophy blogs and web resources of interest to Hayek buffs.

There's this county park out by me where the Hayek buffs have a designated area with a clubhouse where they gather to fly their model Hayeks. The detail on some of them is amazing: the neckties, the suit jackets, the trademark wire-rimmed glasses.. people put some serious work into them. Those gas-powered ones get pretty high up there, too.
[Say, kids: your copy of Movable Type gets bogged down pretty badly from the looks of it, what with the 5 minute waits in posting comments and your double posting issues. If you haven't done so already, you may want to migrate the data to a SQL database. If you have done that nd it's still this bad, you may want to upgrade your $5/month web hosting acount.]

Off topic, but, does anyone know what Doherty's new book, This Is Burning Man, is about?
It's about 247 pages.
(rim shot)
Burning Man, that's the big free form neo-pagan festival that goes on in the desert in Nevada. They burn stick figures at night until everyone runs out of dope. Something like that.
I'm assuming that's what the book is about. So basdically I don't know what the hell I'm talking about.
I go there sometimes but didn't know there was a blog. Maybe cause it's new. Check out some of the posts. Really interesting.
RE This Is Burning Man , I think this is the subject:
http://reason.com/0002/fe.bd.burning.shtml
My book THIS IS BURNING MAN could in some ways be seen as an expansion of the old Reason cover story that Rick gave the link to--in practice, there is very little overlap between them; the book tells more of the story that the Reason article did not have space for---a cultural history of the event and profiles of the people who made/make it happen and make it what it is. A sort of ELECTRIC KOOL-AID ACID TEST for the 21st century---up-close color reportage of the West Coast's current extreme experience avatars and advocates, as well as a study of how intentional anarchy warps and changes when faced with the pressures of both commercial success and government interference
Really Cool Blog, Thank you for such a wonderful job.
