Kerry in a Hurry
All widely available partout, but in the interest of one-stop shopping: Clark endorses Kerry, complicating detail that it was a "pro-Clark blogger" who floated the sex story. Mystery girl is Alex Polier, 24; her father Terry calls Kerry a "sleazeball," says she rejected offer to work on his team; mother Donna says Kerry was "after her;" Alex, a "journalist," is now in Kenya. Kerry tells Imus, "Well, there is nothing to report. So there is nothing to talk about. I'm not worried about it. No." More speculation about why Dean decided not to pull out. UK papers now leading with story. Jane Fonda emphatically not the mystery woman on the beach. Meanwhile, Kerry's real Ms. Right, Elsa Lanchester, is still dead.
Thanks to Drudge, Wonkette, Sullivan, Google News, and Jesus Christ.

Best. Hit n' Run post. Ever
WFAN put the Imus interview at http://wfan.com/imusinstantreplay/ (real audio)
Kerry criticizes Bush ``I don't think Presidents aren't supposed to go for the lowest common denominator, I think they're supposed to look for the highest common denominator.'' Is this a ``potatoe'' thing? As far as I know, the lowest common denominator is at least as big as the biggest denominator; and the highest common denominator is no bigger than the smallest denominator. So the lowest is actually paradoxically bigger than the highest. This is a result of corrupted common usage of ``denominator'' and ``divisor'' but there it is.
LCD of 9 and 12 is 36 (both divide 36). HCD of 9 and 12 is 3 (3 divides both).
Joe, thanks. I knew those things but I'm still not getting it. You only get Botox in your face, I thought. What the hell is she ironing his back for?
I think 36 is the Lowest Common MULTIPLE of 9 and 12, not the Lowest Common Denominator.
LCD is something you use when reducing fractions, not integers.
20/100 890/300. Lowest Common Denominator=5 Highest Common Denominator =100.
There aren't any applications of HCD that I know of, but it's a perfectly legitimate term.
And yet no one talks about Kerry's two heads.
Where are this country's priorities?
That first article is a peach...
"One of Kerry?s former rivals, General Wesley Clark, told reporters earlier this week that Kerry?s campaign would ?implode? over the issue."
--nice endorsement
"Another Kerry rival, Howard Dean, has reversed his decision to quit the race because of the scandal."
--"...and with that, I end my campaign, but the struggle goes on!" (whispering in Dean's ear) "Um, scratch that last part."
"Twice-married Kerry, a senator from Massachusetts, was last night believed to be relaxing with his wife Teresa, a Heinz heiress with a ?350million fortune."
--Is being clobbered by vases and skillets and such really that relaxing?
Would that be Jesus H Christ?
'cause that was my first thought when I heard this story.
So the Kerry intern affair turns out to be a non issue?? As in Kerry never had sex with that woman...
Explains why the other news outlets didnt jump in with the story....
Did anyone read the affairs of presidents part from the "mystery girl" link?
I wasn't aware of the following affairs:
Wartime president Franklin D Roosevelt was forced to abandon mistress Lucy Mercer after his wife Eleanor threatened divorce.
And Dwight Eisenhower had one with his secretary Kay Summersby.
Any validity to those?
Late for the boom-
Good point.
So is "wanna work on my campaign" the DC equivalent of "wanna look at my etchings"?
As it stands, it's a pretty weak case. Especially if that's the best Rupert Murdoch can dig up.
And, frankly, if she was going to bolt to a hidey hole until it blows over, why in God's name would she go to Kenya?
"John Kerry got the Whitehouse and all I got was this nasty case of guinea worm".
Notice that it's a Pennsylvania girl, guaranteeing coverage in a swing state.
So does this story die if the TV Nets never go big with it?
The Wall Street Journal's Opinion Journal political email Politcal Diary (paid only) called the Kerry intern story a "damp squib." In other words, don't get your hopes up. It seems unconfirmable in the way that it would need to be to get Big Media pick up.
Eleanor may have forced FDR to give up Lucy Mercer, but history apparently shows Lucy was with him when he died at Hot Springs. ;->=
Ike did have a fairly long-term relationship with Kay Sommersby, evidently during WWII, not sure how long after that it lasted.
Alex Polier is a journalist.
I Googled and posted all her articles this morning.

Nope, none of them about Massachusetts' junior senator.
Joe
Shouldn't lcd be 2 instead of 5?
Who cares if they cant confirm it, hasnt stopped 'em with the Bush draft story.
...bastards
For all you GOP high minded moralists, salivating at another Drudge hit piece over a so far baselessly rumored private affair, here is a refresher course on the GOP's most recently backed wunderkind, the public sex crime and drug shooting braggart Schwarzenegger, endorsed by the Repugnican Party and George "Finally sobered up at 40" Bush.
Here he offers his genitals for sale for your children to get off the web for their school reports on commendable public figures.

What's with the quotes around "journalist"?
She's published stories, at outlets that pay for reporting. I think that makes her a journalist, no quotation marks needed.
And, um, isn't it a sign of initiative that she's gone to Africa to report?
You guys missed the money quote from the Sun article: "Journalist Alex was in Kenya last night refusing to comment"

No link for Jesus, huh?
I'll tell you what, I don't get this week's Friday Funny about Kerry, at all. Help?

2. Kerry allegedly had botox.
They don't call him the new JFK for nothing...
