So, What Are You Trying to Say?
Without comment, this quote from today's Los Angeles Times, in a story about Governor Schwarzenegger backing down on announced cuts in services for the developmentally disabled:
The governor said he did not think the cuts would be "consistent with my record as an advocate for the developmentally disabled." Schwarzenegger is an international representative of Special Olympics, a Kennedy family member and a recognized advocate for children and people with mental and physical disabilities.

"...a Kennedy family member and a recognized advocate for children and people with mental and physical disabilities."
Heh heh, good one.
if in fact Arnie has represented the disabled community and now has the power to make a difference, wouldn't it be hypocritical to not restore these particular cuts.
Well that didn't take long, did it?
Ok, I'll bite -- why is this funny?
So he's saying that he wants to take the taxpayers' money to spend on things which he personally finds desirable. How's that different from nearly every other politician?
howdt, why is it "hypocritical" to distinguish between personal desires and appropriate actions for a government?
