Gay Old London
Matthew Cowling is a police officer in London. He's also on a national registry of sex offenders. Cowling was arrested in 2000 and accused of having sexual relations with a teenage boy. He was eventually cleared of sexual assault, as well as of charges of indecent assault and gross indecency, but he was convicted of one count of gross indecency in an alley when the boy was just 16. He was placed on the offenders register and fired from his job as a policeman, but when he sued to get his job back, a police tribunal had him reinstated and awarded him back pay to boot.
