Pop After Dark
Franklin Harris reveals the strange fate of the Thundercats, a kiddie cartoon from long ago now given to … well, in Harris' words, "there is so much explicit bondage and implied rape in the current Thundercats comic book that it reads like erotic fan fiction." (And speaking of erotic fan fiction: You all have seen the stories about Roy Orbison getting wrapped in clingfilm, right?)

Ahhh, I see somebody else visits http://www.somethingawful.com!! For those not in the know, Something Awful's site features an "Awful Site of the Day", an honor which went to the "clingfilm" site yesterday, I believe.
Highly recommended.
Actually, a fellow Reason staffer (I'm not sure he'd want me to mention his name) forwarded me the clingfilm link a few weeks ago. Not sure where he found out about it, but maybe he and Something Awful have a source in common.
I realise this is blatant self-promotion, but you can see a sample of the new Thundercats comic book here.

Makes you kind of wonder if Whillee-Kid and Whillie-Kat were getting it one when Lion-O and Panthro's back's were turned.
Also, did Lion-O ever use the "sight beyond sight" grant to him by the Sword of Omens to peek under Cheetarah's unitard.
Oh god I am such a geek.
Jesse,
Wow, several weeks ago, eh? I figured that clingfilm site to be *so* obscure, that there could really be only one source for the link.
I guess I shouldn't be so surprised - the stories are creepy enough in of themselves, but something about the pretty-good-but-not-great translations into English really take the creep factor to a whole new level. I can see how the link could quickly propagate. There also seems to be a strange "Silence of the Lambs" element to the stories. I can hear it now: "It rubs the clingfilm on its skin, or else it gets the hose again."
Incidentally, if you go to the home page, there is quite a bit more stuff there (albeit by different authors). My favorite is "Why I hate TLC": http://www.michaelkelly.fsnet.co.uk/TLC.htm (Warning - vile language).
Mein Gott! I'd like to think years online has inured me to many things, but the clingfilm stories have a special sort of spine-tingling sincerity. "It rubs the clingfilm on it's skin" indeed...
Hmmmm. Thundercats was my favorite cartoon show back in the day when I was young, but it didn't look anything like that. I must say though, I like the new look.
Why don't you go ahead and mention his name and really live out there on the edge?
"What the fuck is wrong with German people?!?"
