Electronic Frontier Foundation cofounder Mitch Kapor will neither confirm nor deny reports in yesterday's New York Times that he resigned from the board of Groove Networks Inc. because it is selling its peer-to-peer information software to the Total Information Awareness program. Well, it would be nice to believe the initial reports were true.

The reports have been borne out as true -- but seeing as he has he has kept all his stock, could one argue that it was really just an empty gesture?

From what I've read, they (TIA) were using grooves (secure) collaboration software to develope TIA projects. I.e., using something not vulnerable to TIA to build TIA.
