All Product Placement, All the Time
The WB network is evidently getting closer to airing a show that has no conventional TV ads, just stuff from sponsors woven into the content. Tentatively titled Live From Tomorrow, the show has Pepsi and Visa interested.
The idea might fly, but there would seem to be a lot of wiggle room for pricing a placement. A 30-second spot is 30 seconds long, whereas some placements might work better than others. We'll see.

I could be wrong, but I believe the first episode of ABC's "Alias" had no conventional commercials. A cellphone company (Nokia?) took care of sponsorship. The spy gal had a cell phone.
That's how I remember it, anyway. My wife really loves the show, but it's too damned bloody for me.
Hmmm. Looked pretty goofy in The Truman Show. Don't expect the WB to get it much better. Main problem is that many commercials today are more engaging than most of the WB programming lineup.
