Reason.tv: Louisiana Commissioner of Administration Angele Davis on Streamlining Government
Angele Davis was a guest at Reason Weekend in New Orleans where she sat down with Reason’s Len Gilroy to talk about her efforts to streamline the Louisiana state government.
“We are focused on creative and sustainable solutions that will basically look for opportunities to realign our government’s size,” says Davis, Commissioner of Administration for the state of Louisiana.
Davis is also the chief financial advisor to Governor Bobby Jindal and serves on the Commission on Streamlining Government. With the goal of reducing the size of the state government and making it more more accountable, transparent and efficient, the commission has made over 200 recommendations to governor Jindal, many of which are now being implemented.
Reason Weekend is an annual conference held by Reason Foundation, the nonprofit that publishes Reason.tv. This year's event took place in New Orleans from April 15-18.

Why did he have to resign? This seems like one hell of a tempest in a teapot, but also probably is a sign of how incestuous and inbred the media industry is. I mean, who gives a shit?

The Huffington Post, which I guess is a paper of record of sorts now, says that the WAPO leadership was annoyed because they set out to hire a conservative and discovered that Weigel is a libertarian-leaning progressive. Their reporting, not my evaluation; Weigel is a cosmotarian as far as I'm concerned, and I'm cool with cosmotarians.

I thought the whole point of his column was that he wasn't a conservative, but was going amongst them to gain an inside perspective? Are the WaPo editors so dumb that they thought Weigel was conservative? I mean, how dumb or tone-deaf would they have to be to think that? Hmm, maybe you shouldn't answer that.
