Seems like one of these guys dies every day, took over 2 years for the Senate to confirm his successor, I wonder how come, I mean why?
Took two years to nominate a successor. One day to confirm.
Assume the war had something to do with the time lag.
Justice Peter Daniel is largely forgotten. He often had strident, lawyerly opinions, including his concurrence in Dred Scott v. Sandford, which was strongly pro-slavery.
Daniel was a reflection of a strong state rights judge. He was a big supporter of Martin Van Buren. Buren's move toward free soil, however, was to him a personal betrayal.
His middle name was "Vivian."
remind me again why we put up with these violent apes?
