"Justice Alito Doesn't Live in N.J. Anymore, so Stop Sending Threatening Mail to His Old Home, Cops Say"
So reports NJ.com (Chris Sheldon), quoting this Facebook post from the West Caldwell Police Department:
The West Caldwell Police Department has responded to multiple calls at a residence formerly owned by Justice Samuel Alito. Erroneous information was circulating on the internet that indicated that Justice Alito still resides in West Caldwell, and individuals have been sending harassing packages to the current resident.
Justice Alito moved out of West Caldwell just after being confirmed to the US Supreme Court, 15 years ago in 2007. The current homeowner has no affiliation with Justice Alito and deserves to live in peace in their home free from harassment, regardless of anyone's political beliefs.
All incidents will be investigated and those responsible will be charged and prosecuted.
Please like and share this post to hopefully put an end to this activity.
Thanks to Howard Bashman (How Appealing) for the pointer.

Just mostly peaceful protests.
Buy a celebrity home from a lawyer and now a Justice. Have it become unsellable due to harassment. That is true of our entire economy as well. You have to be crazy to buy in New Jersey. While home values are exploding everywhere around the country, that is not true in New Jersey, due to their exorbitant tax rates. Only buying in NYC is stupider.
This is tough for me. Vile feminists vs scumbag lawyers on the Supreme Court.

Should this statement be required in the full disclosure statement if the property is put up for sale? Where is Ilya on this question? This is much worse than mold.
I'd put up a sign and says.."Sam Alito..a great Italian American..screw you wokes. You step on my property and u will be shot"
That would be epic....
"All incidents will be investigated and those responsible will be charged and prosecuted."
I wouldn't hold my breath.
...by the way, how is the search for the Dobb's leaker going?
SCOTUS hired the same guy who OJ hired to find the real killer.
I'm betting this and all the other proabortion violence will slip the minds of the 'factcheckers' and 'researchers' once they compile those annual reports proving that 'far right' terrorism is the most common terrorism in America that are regularly circulated to twitter and reddit.
It's just conventional wisdom there was violence out there somewhere. You know, arson that didn't go anywhere, some graffiti, some assholes from twitter. And, of course, the threatening letters of the OP.
You know, basically murder.
Oh, so harassment is ok now? Wow, that’s a relief.
Minimize the sins of the left, maximize those of the right. That’ll fix stuff for sure.
I did not say it was okay. I said it was not proabortion violence.
This is far from the first time you interpret my taking issue with some chucklehead's maximalist position as endorsing something else entirely.
It should go without saying I'm not a fan of death threats, even if they are protected speech.
Oh come on. You're better than this.
Oh, come on, it's only been a couple of pregnancy support centers burned down. That hardly counts - they just exist to make Republicans feel good about turning Strong Womyn into menial breeders.
/s (because someone people don't understand context)
Strong Woman Competition Randy Savage identifying as a woman)..kicked serious ass. Go strong woman
Oh come on. You're better than this.
LOL! No, he isn't...not by a long shot.
I'm not saying that's cool and good.
I'm saying Amos' 'all the other proabortion violence will slip the minds...' is showing how some are already turning this into 'naw, there was a big violent reaction to Roe, how can you think otherwise?' nonsense.
I mean, that's something Alito actually has power over. The SCOTUS has, for decades, made it harder and harder for the law to take threats seriously. The current status quo, of the law effectively shrugging it's shoulders and saying "until there's proof of a concrete specific plan, we can't do anything" is a direct result of the SCOTUS dismissing anything less in the vast majority of cases.
Or to put it another way... if Alito wants the police to take vague threats against Alito seriously, then Alito should want the police to take vague threats against anyone seriously.
The article doesn't say anything about threats. The article only talks about "harassment" and "harassing packages".
Can you point to a decision where Alito made it harder for police to deal with true harassment?
The cops are quoted as saying “stop sending threatening mail”. I mean, I guess they’d know.
Or you could just read up on "true threat" jurisprudence yourself.
Question: If you intended to threaten Alito but threatened aomebody else instead, have you made an attempted threat? Does the intent transfer?
They are still threatening Alito, just using the wrong address to communicate the threat.
I think it would be, not an attempt, but a completed violation of this law:
Sounds insurrectiony. I'm sure the FBI and federal and state governments will prosecute these to the full extent that they prosecuted people for walking around the Capitol on the Jan 6th picnic.
People who tell Justice Alito they disdain his official conduct should be applauded.
People who are Justice Alito's fanboys should be mocked.
People who threaten Justice Alito should be incarcerated.
Well one out of three is an improvement for you.
I recognize pathetic fanboys dislike being mocked by better Americans.
It is, however, not only the moral course but also just too much fun!
Rev. Where did you go to law school? I see no evidence of any legal training in your comments.
Same one that Lincoln (didn't) go to
Arthur, I have no problem with your formulation, especially part 3.
Rev., the quality of your discourse has been deminishijg of late. Even fewer thoughtful comments, even more name-calling, than your previous standards.
Look, you probably thought you were going to just have fun preaching to the lepers and it wasn’t going to change you.
But didn’t you learn in Costco’s best signature theology school, Rev., that when you preach to the lepers, you start out saying “you lepers.” And you think it’ll stay that way. But sooner or later, you end up finding yourself saying “we lepers.” You become one of what you’re preaching to.
“Rev., the quality of your discourse has been deminishijg of late.”
How can you tell? A little like saying the Backstreet Boys songs aren’t up to their old standards.
Great Sopranos episode where Tony Blundetto trying to go straight at a Massage Therapist beats up His Asian Boss for saying "West Cardwerr" one too many times. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9TlKj7rLbA
Some good karate moves in that clip.
Funny how the corporate media doesn't pick this up, but if it was a Dem, particularly someone who "self identifies" as a woman or person of color, the media would go around making every single politician from the local dog catcher on down denounce it.
I know most of the left leaning commenters here are stuck in their own echo chambers. But, don't think that the media ignoring stuff like this means that no one else notices it. If anything it amplifies the effect because not only do you learn about it through alternative channels, but it looks more nefarious in the process. A good half of the country sees the blatant double standard and disregard and it does not exactly sit well.
Whining, grievance-consumed, half-educated right-wingers are among my favorite culture war casualties.
Do you also tell people that at parties when and if you ever get invited to those?
I don't spend much time at parties featuring disaffected, antisocial, autistic Republicans . . . although I attend Federalist Society functions, which are difficult to describe as "parties" because (after the formal presentation of stale, ugly political and legal thinking) they consist mostly of awkward people milling around anxiously, trying to look at ease in a social setting.
Probably just you being socially awkward and projecting that on others. Last Federalist society thing I went to (albeit years ago) was pretty rockin' open bar and all.
Do they tip you well when you serve their drinks?
go to Porcfest....good times..good times...booze, drugs, and sex....and real libertarianism..
they don't have many parties at https://www.cor.pa.gov/Facilities/StatePrisons/Pages/Greene.aspx
Rev. I am loving the Jan 6 hearings. Lawyers are talking as if they are reptiles. They are conducting a Stalinist show infomercial for the Democrat Party. It has no dissenters nor any balance in testimony. The effect is to make all real Americans hate feminists, lawyers and Democrats. It is a great commercial for the Republican Party, worth $billions in free publicity for them. You people are really self defeating.
Jeez, I know she's out in January, but does Liz Chaney not even try to look presentable anymore??
"Reverend" Jerry, your Almer Mater's https://law.udc.edu/ not very woke, being named after an Old Dead White guy...
My culture war Casualties???, lets see, (almost FL Governor) Andrew Gillium, (former) Senator Al "Hands" Franklin, (former NY Gov)Andrew "rhymes with" Cuomo, (former PMS-NBC host Chris Me-Thews, Mark "Creepy" Halperin, (former) Rep John "Big Daddy" Conyers,

something about buggering teens, I know, way older than you like...
Frank
Better to be half-educated than to be half-assed.
Where did you hear about it? I heard about it from the MSM, and so, proximately or ultimately, did almost everyone else. Do you maintain a bunch of well-placed agents to gather information for you? Probably not. Did your favorite blogger get out into the streets and examine the public records? Probably not.
Um, how do you think you know about it?
Also, what's with adopting the far left phrase "corporate media"? As opposed to what, limited partnerships?
Corporations are now woke and bad until proven otherwise.
And from the Grooveyard of Creepy DemoKKKrats, and oldie but baddie,
Robert Frederick Drinan SJ (November 15, 1920 – January 28, 2007) was a Jesuit priest, lawyer, human rights activist, and Democratic U.S. Representative from Massachusetts.
In 2012, five years after Drinan's death, Slate writer Emily Yoffe said that he had sexually assaulted her when she was "a teenager of 18 or 19."[16] Drinan's niece responded to the allegations by calling it "odd that anyone would come forward with this allegation decades later when our uncle is in no position to defend himself.

"The current homeowner [...] deserves to live in peace in their home free from harassment, regardless
of anyone's political beliefs."
So does Justice Alito. So do the Justices who voted against overturning Roe. So does everybody else.
