Very moving. But someone lawyerly explain why Putin remains alive, along with his oiligarchs. He is now committing mass murder of civilians, yet he remains alive. Explain that lawyer traitor scum.
Eugene needs to get us the names of the American lawyers preventing the eradication of Putin and of all his oiligarchs.
I haven't seen any songs from the Russian soldiers. Is this because (a) Russians aren't creating any such songs, (b) the dissemination of such songs is being blocked by Russian censors, (c) the dissemination of such songs is being blocked by American censors, or (d) some other reason [they're too busy destroying things, et c.]? Warfare is in part a comparison of penile volume: I would be surprised if Russians did not juxtapose at least a little ditty (even if carefully concealed in an innocuous wrapper).
I'm becoming increasingly concerned about the dearth of actual war coverage generally: while porn chatrooms remain a great source of lightly-censored photos and information, it seems odd that such chatroom coverage, along with that of China's state-run TV, paints a picture more plausible than that shown by American legacy TV networks.
Leaving aside the goodness or evil of his aims, Putin is a brilliant strategic thinker. With the skill of Tom Sawyer, he has enlisted the West in Balkanizing world trade, perhaps irrevocably. He has effectively severed the West from the "old" economy of food, energy, and raw materials -- a fact even the Washington Post today acknowledges. He has kept civilian casualty rates low -- statistically lower than those of recent American special operations and causing many around the world to question American legitimacy. He has brought the President of Ukraine, a self-declared admirer of Trump methodology, to the bargaining table. What is the desired outcome of all of this? Will we see a Crimean Corridor in eastern Ukraine?

lol, Putin is such a brilliant strategic thinker he has destroyed the Russian economy, cut it off from the financial system, caused panic buying and food shortages, and essentially turned Russia into a vassal state of China for the next thirty years. Russia depends on western innovation and technology to maximize the productivity of its energy and raw materials sectors. If you want to fast forward and see how all this brilliant strategic thinking works out, see Venezuela. The inflation rate in Venezuela is now 350% and under Maduro Venezuela has gone from a rich oil producing nation to near bankruptcy.
China is the strategic thinker here. They want Russian raw materials assets cheap. A Russia subservient to China is in their long term interests.
A lot of Russians will need to start learning Chinese.
turned Russia into a vassal state of China for the next thirty years.
I don't see that being the case. I agree with how dumb Putin is, and even how China's more strategic thinking is wiser. But I don't see how Russia falls into China's sphere of influence.
Neither Putin nor Xi is a clever strategical thinker. Putin has ruined Russia's military reputation for years, destroying their military export market in the process, and turned the world against him and Russia. Xi has alienated every one of his Southeast Asian neighbors, convinced them to increase military budgets and think about getting back in bed with the Americans, thrown away Hong Kong's innovation and interface to the West, and similarly clobbered China's reputation for years.
Those brilliant strategic moves are only outclassed by Biden.
E: All of the above.
F. They're dead, or busy begging food from Ukranians.
Why just look at how quickly he subdued Kyiv!
Your slobbering over Putin does not change his scoring of the biggest own goal of the 21st century, turning his own Mother Russia into North Korea at a pace no one would have thought possible.
