Regrettably, it turns out that the quote is about Santiago Siri, "an Argentinian citizen who resides in San Francisco, New York, and Madrid, Spain," whose allegedly defamatory remarks about plaintiffs were quoted in a Spanish-language site aimed at a Latin American audience. It could have been such an interesting case ….

In opposing a defendant’s motion to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction, a plaintiff bears the burden of establishing that
jurisdiction is proper. Boschetto v. Hansin, 539 F.3d 1011, 1015 (9th Cir. 2008).
