When one of these dies, the damage does not end. It is replaced by another toxic source of effluvia of idiocy.
His awful judgement, bias, inability to read the plain language of the constitution, a law that prevented war for 30 years, and a ratified international treaty set off a Civil War. He killed 600000 Americans, like 2 million today. Good job.

A slaveowner and ardent supporter of slavery whose only reported child -- whom he did not support -- was born of a slave and into slavery. One of the votes against Dred Scott. An Andrew Jackson fan and nominee.
America should be proud that it has improved against the wishes and efforts of people such as Catron and Jackson.
