Ha ha I was thinking the exact same thing! I guess we weren't so dangerous before the invention of the laser.
One can see, comparing this to the recent photo of Justice John Campbell, what great strides were made in eyebrowology. In the space of two generations, what had been a debilitating and often terminal illness transfigured (one might go so far as to say transmogrified) into a professional advantage. There is a wonderful peer-reviewed article waiting to be written on the relation between supercilii and the development of the theory of promissory estoppel.
