I can't see how "everyone should know" this case. It's a fossil, with no living descendants. Not that anyone could figure this out from Josh's context-less summary. (It would have taken him maybe 10 seconds to add, "This is no longer good law; under the Fourteenth Amendment, passed in 1868, the Fifth Amendment now prohibits state and local governments from such 'takings'.")
