The word "salaried" does indeed mean she was paid. I'd go on to call you whatever is stupider than a dolt, maybe a "Dane", but you wear your stupidity with pride.

Salaried implies that one was paid to do a job which was full time advocate.

"Paid off" implies that someone was paid to provide a particular service or advocate for a position they otherwise might not have if it were not for the money.

Consistent statements and letters from Roe suggest that she was a salaried advocate that believed the ACLU lied to and conned her. She held these beliefs, firms and sincerely, until apparently the very end. Even then there are some that suggested her "deathbed" confession was coerced.

Sure sometimes people lie. And sometimes people live a lie. But for around 40 years she was adamant that ACLU conned her and abortion was societal evil. I think I will let those years speak for her and not a statement made at the end of her life under questionable circumstances.
