The moment I heard about the "doge" meme thing several years ago, my first thought was of course: "Like the Doge of Venice?" And now this tweet comes up (from a competitive Street Fighter V player, it turns out) ….

Oh, and, yes, it's a cute picture, but that's not what's important.
