Upcoming Law & Economics Center Antitrust Law & Economics Institute for Judges on Oct 23-26
The Sixth Annual Antitrust Law & Economics Institute for Judges will be held from Sunday, October 23 to Wednesday, October 26, 2016. The Institute is co-sponsored by the Antitrust Law Section of the ABA and the Judicial Education Program, a division of the Law & Economics Center at the George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School.
This year's Antitrust Law & Economics Institute will feature a mock trial, which will tackle the antitrust issues raised by a hypothetical merger between two leading medical device manufacturers, and decide whether the anticompetitive effects of such a merger, if any, are offset by the manufacturers' pro-competitive justifications for the merger. Other speakers will include:
· William E. Kovacic, Global Competition Professor of Law and Policy & Director, Competition Law Center at the George Washington University School of Law
· The Honorable Susan Y. Illston, Senior Judge for the US District Court for the Northern District of California
· Michael D. Hausfeld, Chairman of Hausfeld LLP
· And many more!
As with all Mason JEP programs, there is no tuition and reading materials, hotel rooms, and group meals are included. Judges will stay at the Westin Arlington Gateway in the Ballston area, with shuttle transportation provided to and from the law school. The full program agenda can be found here and registration can be found here.
