Upcoming talks in Denver and at Yale Law School
For those interested, I will be doing upcoming talks in Denver and at Yale Law School this week. The topics include eminent domain and property rights, political ignorance, and overcriminalization.
Tuesday, March 8, 12-1:15, Colorado Federalist Society Lawyers Division Chapter, Denver, CO: "The Grasping Hand: Kelo v. City of New London and the Limits of Eminent Domain" (based on my book of the same title). Details here.
Wednesday, March 9, 12:00-1:15, University of Denver, Sturm College of Law, Rm. 190: "Political Ignorance and the 2016 Election" (debate with Univ. of Denver Prof. Ian Farrell). This talk is in part based on the forthcoming second edition of my book Democracy and Political Ignorance. Sadly, thanks in part to the rise of Donald Trump, political ignorance may be an even bigger factor in this year's election than is usually the case.
Thursday, March 10, 12-1:15, Yale Law School: "Police Misconduct and the Perils of Overcriminalization" (with Yale Law School Professor Stephen Carter). This event was inspired by my commentary on this excellent article by Prof. Carter (who was one of my favorite professors when I was in law school).
