'Lawless: The Obama Administration's Unprecedented Assault on the Constitution and the Rule of Law': The book jacket
My book, "Lawless: The Obama Administration's Unprecedented Assault on the Constitution and the Rule of Law," is due out on Nov. 17 from Encounter books. Encounter just sent me the book jacket, which features blurbs from Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.), former U.S. attorney general Michael Mukasey, Glenn "Instapundit" Reynolds and Ilya Shapiro of the Cato Institute.
And speaking of "Lawless," a while back Commentary published an earlier version of Chapter 1, in which I explained how the Obama administration's lack of respect for the rule of law when it stands in the way of policy preferences reflects broader intellectual trends. In that regard, check out this essay at Vox by Matthew Yglesias praising Hillary Clinton for being comfortable "with violating norms and operating in legal gray areas," "know[ing] where the levers of power lie, and she is comfortable pulling them, procedural niceties be damned," for caring "more about results than process" and being "a person who believes in asking what she can get away with."
